I hate to say this but you won’t be able to control how people react / not react. You can only control your response. If they ask questions you deem invasive/ uncomfortable kindly decline or change the topic. You made this change for yourself and if you’re happy (or even unhappy) it’s no one’s business Also if it makes you uncomfortable to show yourself due to swelling/ healing excuse yourself when you can from in-person/ video mtgs

Yes exactly! Trying to figure out best way to respond.

People are probably more likely to talk amongst themselves than say anything to you, I’d guess. But if someone says something to you, I think your response depends on if you want to admit you did something or not. It’s no one’s business either way, but if it’s noticeable, there’s always at least one person in every workplace that’s not able to filter themselves lol.

When people ask me my age I'll usually say "I don't like to discuss that at work" and once someone asked me if I wanted to have kids and I responded "oh you're not supposed to a that" they apologized. There's also the people that preface with "can I ask ..." and "no not really" People usually mean to be respectful.

“I’m not really comfortable talking about that right now” and they’ll likely drop it.

I think it would be very strange and inappropriate for anyone to comment. Unfortunately, it's like any change in appearance where sometimes life just hands you certain things and you have to develop an attitude towards it. I've been losing some hair I believe will become more noticeable soon, and I've been trying to figure out the best way to own that for myself. Sometimes being forthright about something makes you feel more "normal" but sometimes you just get to a place where you feel really comfortable with it being no one's business but yours.

So, I don’t know if it’s a hiring freeze or not, but Amazon recruiters just ghosted me hours before the “save the date” loop interview. This is after I already went through round 1, completed their writing assessment, reviewed all their materials and took a personal day off. I mean a short email to at least cancel would be nice, no?

I book travel arrangements that immediately hit my card (eg flights) weeks in advance, and the card comes due but the travel hasn't even happened. Do I submit a "flight expenses only" report? What do?
