Sorry for your loss and turbulent year. Would not suggest leaving the end date blank. Most employers will do background checks and find out later that your employment ended long ago. Why don’t you add sabbatical in the resume and only elaborate in detail when you speak to the actual recruiter? Lots of people take time out of the workforce (including working women) and come back. It comes down to how well you explain the gap and the circumstances around it.
I feel for you Op. I agree w strategies like the later. I also think in cover letters you can say “after time off due to family issues regarding Covid-19, I’m looking forward to jumping back into the workforce”. I think calling it out early is best and focus on the family part. You did nothing wrong so you don’t need to be ashamed of it
^ agree. Say the gap was to attend to personal medical issues. No one with any integrity and respect will want to question that.
Sorry for your loss. If interested in EY do not hesitate to dm me. I can help you prep if our skills align.
When I explain my scenario to the recruiters their attitude is like ohh so you enjoyed a good long vacation there then ?
Well I only know what I have gone through in the last year and how I have spent. I don't expect sympathy but I just want them to understand my scenario.
Anyway some suggestions are like not to add the end date on my last experience and have it continuation.
Not sure if it's a good suggestion or not ?
Any thoughts in this ?

I have seen people take extended time off to take care of personal issues. As long as you sound honest, not dramatic, you should be able to recover. Now while applying, try to do some skills development to illustrate your readiness to take on new job.
