Mom of two myself. Clothes are great fit the kids and echo getting a size up. As far as gift for mom I always loved getting coffee or food. Also I want to let you know it’s so nice that you are thinking about the mom. A lot of people kind of discard moms once the baby is here and it’s nice to remember that our friends still care about us too.

Thanks!!😄
Clothes are always nice - try to go up a size or two cause some babies grow so quickly and in those early days i never worried about cute outfits 😅 as far as the lipstick - depends on the person - I never wore lipstick much beforehand so wouldn’t have been something I’d enjoyed. One suggestion - maybe a door dash gift card? We really didn’t have time to cook and appreciated the ability to get a quick meal when needed

Thanks both:)

Get 6 month clothes or 9 month clothes, they outgrow the nerborn stuff way too fast. $50 is great for baby stuff, would recommend as an Amazon gift card. Also we may be wearing masks for a long time so rather than lipstick, a Starbucks gift card may help mom feel more human 😉

Most people give clothes and toys so she may have too much already. If you are close, ask her what she would prefer a gift for your "niece". She may need something else and wouldn't mind if you picked it out. Also, you might be able to give a gift card to Handy (cleaning service) or something that would actually allow her to relax.

$50 is a great range, you could get a set of Kissy Kissy pajamas or a Milkbarn dress or set for the baby. That’s great treat that I generally won’t splurge on but really loved when people gave it as a gift. For mom, I would’ve loved gift cards for food (Grubhub, DoorDash, etc).

Awesome I've been eyeing something from kissy kissy!
I love that you care and you're showing it. About to pop with my first - baby gifts are nice and always appreciated. We got a lot of clothes - I'd say they aren't "needed" but they are appreciated, and hopefully you'll get to see the little muffin in them someday. I particularly love your idea of getting mom something. I'm learning just how much is expected of moms (and I'm not even in baby hell yet 🤣). Love the food ideas, bath set (esp in cold months - I'm a bath junkie these days), even the lipstick idea if your friend is into that. Mostly I just want you to know how much it will mean to her that you are getting something for her, recognizing that she is going through something huge herself. Most people (understandably) focus solely on baby - mom needs some love too!

Thanks!! And def. Trying to show some love to the mom 🤣
The suggestion to get a size or two up is great but KEEP IN MIND THE SEASON!!! If the baby was born now and you get 6-9 month clothes, it’ll be summer when she’ll fit into them. So don’t get fall/winter clothes in that size! I got so many gifts that I couldn’t really use because they were the wrong season when they fit my kid

I have always been a proponent for gift for mom and baby. Mom being pampered and taking care of her well-being is just as important as welcoming beautiful baby! In past some girlfriends and I have pitched in for a spa gift certificate and meals delivered to her house.
