You should be able to negotiate off those aspects; I know plenty of people who have done so successfully. Your compensation should consider everything you bring to the table, merit, skills, and certifications included.
I think you should absolutely negotiate. You said it best, you got the job based on those things, so your salary should reflect that. I don't think that's asking for too much, and it's a good attitude to have. Remind them of your value and start the process, you deserve what you're worth!
Negotiate even if you think you’re getting a fair wage!
Always negotiate. This is my number one rule. You can always ask for more.
