Hello 🐠, wanted to get some support and guidance on a health issue. I recently got diagnosed with Endometriosis. My OBGYN wants me to start birth control which I will in a few weeks but was wondering if any of you have the same condition and what strategies/treatments you are using. Thanks as always!

BCPs helped me a ton. I would also get massage and chirp adjustment 48 hours before my cycle started so that I was in shape when the cramps came on. Generally had serious cramps that prevented work at least two days a month. Once married, I was unable to conceive even with infertility help so had a hysterectomy at 30 and woke up feeling 1000times better. There’s also an Endometriosis Foundation supporting research in treatment offerings. Look them up! Best of luck to you.

I would look into getting a consultation for an endo specialist about options.

I was diagnosed and treated for endometriosis via laparoscopy earlier this year. My doctor said that this was the only way to be fully diagnosed for endometriosis and the benefit would be on the spot treatment via laparoscopy if they found any. Everything was a success and I have no regrets at all.

I had terrible cramps growing up, even worse during college. Went on BCP post college for about 5 years, then IUD for 3 yrs. Didn’t realize BCP was treating my endo but it came back when I was on IUD. Totally screwed up my sex life which was hard for my husband and me. We were also concerned about conceiving issues down the line so decided to go ahead with the laparoscopy

Looking for good health-related gift ideas for my mom for the holidays. She’s almost 52. I’m concerned that she’s not taking her health as seriously as she should be. She bought herself a yoga mat because she promised me she’d start (she also has back pain so it would help alleviate some of that), but it’s still laying in its packaging.

Any suggestions? $ doesn’t matter.

My spouse and I recently adopted an older shelter dog (Carlotta). Some of the other MDs at my hospital were putting together a "Dr. and Dog" social event, so I took Carlotta. The amount of jabs I got for bringing a shelter "mutt" (with typical elderly dog health ailments) instead of purchasing an expensive designer dog like everyone else was astounding. I'm sorry I didn't pay thousands for a purebred or socially-acceptable mutt. Is this level of snobbery typical in dog circles??

I want to take a sabbatical. No one else at my firm has taken one - even our attorneys who have had kids are usually back the week after, our female lawyers who have kids typically take a month to six weeks but it is unpaid. I’m a partner, I know it will be without pay, and I really need some mental health time without email/deadlines. I have thought about leaving the firm but would prefer to recharge if possible. Is this a bad idea?

Question for my health-conscious ladies. I’m trying to lose weight, have lost about 10 pounds in the last month which I’m super happy with because it’s mainly been a diet change and light exercise. There’s been 2 instances though where I ate a big burrito for dinner (a week apart) and I gained like 1.5 pounds overnight! Is this because of slow digestion or I guess fat from the burrito being stored? I’m trying to get under 150 and may need to curb the burritos for now😂

Need some advice, please. I run an online networking group, it’s sizable and exploded with the pandemic. There are thousands of members, it’s big! My ex-biz partner recently decided to start using it to promote themselves. We closed up shop years ago somewhat amicably, but I have zero interest in having them show up in my group/life. Are there any options or am I stuck with them? They haven’t been directly in touch for over a year.

I don't know what to expect because of her lawyer personality (law school makes people "different"). Have you been in a disagreement with someone like this? Any lessons learned or things to keep in mind when i go to resolve?
