Hello! We are having Florida and California fatigue. Looking for somewhere fun to go with 7 year old twin boys in mid April for a week. Live in Michigan, prefer <5 hours flight time

Washington DC. Amazing free museums. Can take a day trip to Williamsburg (a very odd place, but should be fun for your kids), or the Chesapeake Bay.

If you decide to go, check how the shut down is impacting tourist destinations.

Kids are into swimming, hiking, history, would like a resort with a good kids club.

Colorado. Mountains > beaches. Vail, Breck and a number of resorts close to Denver would be a good getaway.

Great Smoky Mountains and Utah national parks will all be great weather. Texas has lots of kid-friendly resorts too. Often kind of hot by April already, but maybe that’s a plus coming from Michigan.

I know this is great that your 5 hour flight time, but Delta starts their direct flight to Hawaii from Detroit in June

Chicago

Thanks all. What are some good kid friendly resorts in Virgin Islands? Or Caribbean in general?

4.5 hour n/s to Kingston from DTW is $100 right now e/w for some dates. Spirit but still.

6-7 hour connectors to USVI and Punta Cana via FLL are <$200. Not bad

I think Charleston/Kiawah Island (really most of the barrier islands) are great for families

April weather in Colorado is not ideal .. too much snow for hiking and may not be enough for skiing

Definitely enough snow in April for most ski resorts. I have skiied in April tons of times. Pretty much all major resorts are open until mid May with A Basin ski area open until June.

Austin, Texas

Great wolf lodge! I loved it when I was (a lot) younger.

Love the great wolf lodge. The boys enjoy playing the magic quest game. What a great marketing strategy. There is one just north of Chicago now. Which allows us to meet up with our friends who live in Lakeview for a night and then go to the lodge for the second night on a weekend away. The water park there is a bit small for the kids though

How many married professionals with young families are just sticking it out “for the kids”? Marriage is very dead and has been for a while. Young kids 4 and 1. My wife and I don’t fight, but share 0 interests outside of the kids and can’t stand to be around each other. I’m so ready to leave… I just can’t bear the thought of doing it to my children even though another part of me feels like wife and I would both be better parents if our lives were separate. Anyone else done a similar analysis?

Is it not appropriate if I want to switch to another cleaning lady because she constantly changes our schedule due to family reasons? She canceled on us last week for family plumbing issue, and she is MIA now telling me her father passed away. I know it’s hard to deal with all those things but we also need cleaning. She was always a 30min-1hour late for the past year and half, but she cleans well. And I don’t know how to comfort her except adding a bit more tips.

Halp! Is this an issue - booked Int flights on United's website & the trip will involve 2 other airlines. UA ->Brussels Air->Luft->UA

Both our names are showeing as Firstmiddle Last Name
There's no space between First name and Middle name - which is what's on both our passports.

It looks like Janeann Doe when it should be Jane Ann Doe

I called United right away and the guy was like it's fine, nbd, but I'm freaking out. Should I call again or am I being paranoid & anxious?

I’m grateful to teach PLTW as it provides a solid outline of materials and always lets me use it as a crutch but build off of it and modify as needed.
