Hi all! Originally hired in an Admin Assistant role at my current company, but was offered to move into a different department 2 months ago. Made the move, and it’s working out ok. It’s something I’ve never done before and I’m learning as I go. A few bumps, as expected, but I think I’m doing ok… here’s the issue: when I search the average salary in my state for my new role, the low end is almost a third higher than what I’m currently making. How would you handle this?

Hey everyone! Wanted some advice - got an offer from a big ad agency for a Planning Manager role. Base salary is $90K (more than satisfactory, I have 2.5-3 years of total agency exp), but their PTO is severely lacking especially compared to my unlimited PTO benefit at my current job - they offered 10 actual PTO days, which are even prorated since it's mid-year. Assuming their PTO allowance is negotiable, any advice for how to handle the email follow-up to the written offer/how much to ask for?

Company doesn't want to disclose the range they're offering and have twice asked for my current salary (which I've refused to give). They've also said my expected salary is higher than budgeted. I was offered a Solutions Architect role with a packaging company. When discussing details with the recruiter, she specified that the salary was $60k…I was shocked to hear that number.

I gave her my target salary as $100-120k (I have 3 years experience in IT, 1 in IT Procurement, now a PM). She said the highest they would likely be able to go is $85k, but she would have to speak with the hiring managers.

I still think $85 is too low for the role. What do you think is a fair salary?

I wouldn’t say the new company is a large well known org like Amazon or anything and most have never heard of it.

Didn’t know better and that was a lateral move hoping for better. Covered a lot of areas and people successfully for a thanks. Fast forward almost 8 years later I stepped down from manager to process engineer for being paid less than my techs. This is another lateral move. I’m still at same tech grade in a salary position. Is it worth negotiating….
I was given an verbal offer yesterday for a great job as an account manager for a new company. The verbal salary offer came in 2k short of what I told them my minimum salary requirements would be. The job has great perks and to be honest I still may take the offer if they reject my counter.

The other thing is how much more should I ask for? Hypothetically if I wanted 50k and they offered me 48k, how much should I ask for in the counter, I was thinking maybe 5k more

I’m currently 6 months into my first job, and I plan on bringing up my salary during my 1 year performance review (we do 1 every quarter). Since our company doesn’t have stocks, my TC would just be base salary + benefits. When doing my research on the market value and average compensation for similar roles in the same location (I’m going to be using levels.fyi), would it be fair to compare my TC with the TC of a company that offers bonuses such as stock bonuses? Interested in any opinions, I have been with my company now for almost a year and have been interviewing with a company that I am pretty sure I will get. I like my current company but because it’s a consultant company and is based on work coming in I found myself not having much work for almost the entire time I’ve been there. Should I take the new position that will be a 20k jump in salary or stay with this company? Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Really need some help 🐠 I’ve got 2 offers on the table and not sure which one to go with. It’s my first time receiving RSUs as comp. Any insight/advice is very much appreciated!!

Both are finance roles.

Offer 1:
- Big Bank, hybrid (2-3 days in office), Manager
- base: $195k
- bonus: $50k
- total comp: $245k

Offer 2:
- FAANGMULA, 100% remote, Senior Manager
- base: $157k
- bonus: 20%
- annual RSU: $44k
- sign on bonus: $25k
- sign on RSU: $60k
- total comp: $317k

I received a verbal offer today for a Denials Analyst position. I asked for an offer letter or anything in writing but they said they were unable to do so if I haven’t yet accepted the position. Is this normal?

I am going to have my mid year review later this week. I'd like to ask for a raise considering:

-I have been getting interviews and interest from recruiters for higher level and higher paying roles
-The employees at my company in the level below me (operators and lab techs) got raises earlier this year
-Overall, I have been performing very well and have performance reasons why I deserve it

Any tips on having this conversation with my manager?

I’m currently interviewing for a hybrid Jr UX Designer role for a fragrance company. The compensation is between 70-80k. I searched the market rate in NYC and the salaries are between 103-120k. I assume this is based on the company, industry, and experience. I have a graphic design background with 10 years experience and have a springboard certification for UX. I don’t want to get low balled as I have been in the past. Is it unreasonable to ask for what’s market value when it’s a team of 5?
