Hello world! I’m travelling with my 11 month old from Vancouver to Orlando. I had a question, I was planning on using Uber/Lyft when landing in Orlando. Do Uber and Lyft require a car seat to transport in a vehicle? I won’t be bringing one. But will be taking the stroller. Any advice?

UberX offers that option: https://help.uber.com/riders/article/uber-car-seat?nodeId=3abcbae1-132b-42a9-8277-0dab00fa3879

I believe UberX offers the option of adding a car seat to your rental. Not sure about Lyft. Even if they don't require it, I wouldn't take a chance in not having one for safety reasons.

You will need a car seat for safety while driving anywhere, and I think UberX does offer that option. I would look ahead and make sure that you won't need to purchase one somewhere along the way. Have fun!

This might sound controversial, but some Ubers don't even care if your baby is in a car seat. It might suit some people, while others think it is irresponsible.

Orlando is one of the few cities I've travelled to where I can request a car seat with my Uber. It's a big help for travelling families. I hope this helps!

like

Yes you need a car seat for a baby that young…

Thanks everyone!

Yes, as others have said, UberX offers that option but there is a surcharge for the service.

Hmm. I don't think Uber has one. They are not required to have one.

My best friend took a year off work and just traveled around South America with just a backpack and duffle bag of essentials. He spent about $5 to $10 a night at local hostels and food costs cheaper at local restaurants and shops. He spent roughly $500 a month on room and board. Aside from activities like bungee jumping or live sports events, most of the other activities costs little to nothing. Debating on saving up and just escape for a bit just like that.
