I feel like this is a big fat no: I left Deloitte in 2019. In 2019 I traveled to two states for work...is there a way to get Deloitte to reimburse me for the $110 I’m about to pay to TurboTax?
Official firm hierarchy: 1) Finance/expense police 2) Partner 3) Intern 4) Director/Senior Manager 5) Manager 6) Associate 7) Senior Associate
Deloitte folks - question on the "fitness membership/fee while traveling" expense; I know it isn't deducted from our wellness benefit but are we taxed on this or is it 100% covered?
If you expensed a charge and then later realize it was billed wrong so you get it refunded by the vendor. Meanwhile the expense report is already paid by the firm do you pocket it or fess up?
New hire question - if I didn't submit expenses before that expense cut off date is there any bad consequence?
Why does it feel like all agencies are either totally award obsessed or business obsessed. Is there no agency that can exist with those two working hand in hand? Why must one always come at the expense of the other. Am I just jaded? Idk tbh
Need tips from anyone in the Bay Area. Moving to San Francisco from NYC. Any areas are recommended? What’s the typical rent expense if you live alone vs. with a roommate? Can I go slightly outside San Francisco near Foster city for cheaper rent?
Can you expense office equipment at Deloitte?
Does anybody else wish that the Firm just gave a per diem for travel and meals as opposed to just an Amex allowance. I never even come close to the $100 a day allowance when traveling.
Former Accenture to Deloitte or Deloitte to Accenture folks. At Deloitte, we’re pretty lenient on what we can get away with expense wise. How does the expense policy at Accenture compare?
Just started investments a month ago, majority in VOO. Have some funds (<5K) in few ETFs where I noticed (last night) the expense ratio is .40, .50, .20, .10 vs compared to VOO’s .03. Thoughts on selling those with higher expense ratio now? ( don’t have a lot of profit or loss at this point as it’s been just a month).
Hey quick question about a rehab I'm planning! Are holding costs usually covered in the hard money loan for the rehab or is that an out of pocket expense similar to closing costs and refi?
Fishbowl pro tip: When you tap comment field it takes you right to end of a thread. Can prevent tons of scrolling, eg in the Deloitte $56k expense thread.
Do you spend your entire per diem? Or do you prefer low-cost food options (chipotle for example) and save the rest of the per diem?
Does bcg reimburse expenses for CFA? Would take the test once I joined but don’t start until new year
going to be joining deloitte consulting soon. should i get the corporate credit card? is it easier to expense with it?
Approached by a recruiter for Siegfried Group... Is it ok to ask her what other companies/positions she’s currently recruiting for, or do recruiters prefer you only discuss the role they contacted you about? Also anyone know what the (internal) referral bonus is for someone who brings a senior associate into Siegfried?
Was approached by Accenture for a principal role. Any insight on comp? Base/total. Glassdoor gives a pretty wide range of 183-268 base...
Which one would you rate better for someone targeting PE Investment roles post MBA and why: CBS/ Sloan/ Booth/ Kellogg? HSW seem out of reach. Asking for a cousin! TIA
Nearing the two year mark at EY and am considering starting to prepare for MBA apps. Have had rewarding experiences with great teams so far at the firm but would love to challenge myself a bit more...
Thoughts on Goodby Silverstein & Partners? I'm curious about culture, work-life balance, mentorship, etc.
Good news for everyone no matter where you are politically: New research indicates COVID immunity could last more than a year, especially after vaccination.
Im about 2.5 years in and I’m starting to really dislike tech implementation work. Maybe remote work is just killing me now. What are some common exit opportunities you’ve seen or taken? Excluding MBA
Any thoughts on Slalom D&A vs any of the big 4 or MBB’s analytics practices? Looking to make switch as work here hasn’t been terribly engaging. Looking to do advanced analytics type of work
President COVID is so sick he is doing proof of life videos in front of a green screen rather than walk 100 feet out his own front door.

‘Because there are so FEW of you on this flight, we’ve had to put each of you in your own half row, for weight and balance. If your bag would usually be gate checked, please take it on with you...'
Half my team got laid off and while I’m grateful to have my job still, I feel like I’m drowning in the additional work. All of their responsibilities have been assigned to me, the most junior person on the team. When I brought up that this was a bit much for one person/didn’t think this was sustainable (hinting at the fact that some of the other existing team members should pick some of the laid off peoples’ work), team lead went off on what I’m sure he thought was an inspiring speech about...

Why would anyone possibly drive to a non-local project? Coworker drives 10+ hours/week. You lose so many airline points and cause unnecessary damage to your car 😰 Please give me insight 🐠 fam!
Is the Herman Miller Aeron Chair worth it? What do /don’t you like about it ? I’m trying to find a comfortable ergonomic chair that goes high enough and will help reduce aches and pains
Advice on dealing w/ difficult mgr? Specifically, she pushes team hard to get things to her review. Mgr doesn’t look at for 10-14days, then sends review comments and asks for updates by EOD/tmrw. Also not uncommon for her to interrogate team members about time they have charged, despite detailed time descriptions and hours being reasonable/in budget. Been 8 months working w her. I get anxious b4 mtgs w her. I have been interviewing. Unreasonable to ask counselor to roll off these engagements?
