I made a mistake starting SIP in a ULIP. Used to invest 7500 per month starting from November 2018. I have discontinued my premium payments since last year. That is when my fund was moved to an interim surrender state and now it earns 4% per annum interest.

After 5 years of lock-in that is November 2023, can i withdraw the entire amount at a time? (Of course after paying surrender charges)

It's a great company, awesome culture, good benefits, flexibility, but the pay is not great ($60K/yr). I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). So I was at a dinner with my MBA classmates, one an H1B, one a white American (slightly right of centre in terms of politics) and im a green card holder, the conversation got really awkward when my H1B pal starts ranting about how oppressive the H1B system and how it shows how racist the US is, the white dude held it in for a while and then said, you knew the rules before you came here, why didn’t you go to Canada or Europe.
