Same boat! I’ve had a bunch of interviews and I always get to the last round but don’t get the offer. Getting frustrated. And D1, I have asked for feedback and have usually been ignored. Sometimes told it’s against HR policy

like

Practice - ask a friend who’s going to be honest and don’t take it personally as you receive feedback. The only way I’ve noticed improvement is to put myself out there and practice.

Anyone else experience this? I feel like I have a black mark or I’m coming across in the wrong way. Any guidance on how to break out of this pattern?

Hey OP, don’t lose hope and just keep at it. Sometimes things change, companies realize they need a different skill set, more senior or junior resource, budgets shifts and they may realize you’re too expensive for them, or they may end up filling the role through an internal hire. It’s frustrating and unprofessional to not hear back but be glad you’re not with them if they don’t have the professionalism to respond back to your emails

like

Hey guys thanks for all the responses. I actually had a chance to talk with TWO of the HR leads (I reached out them for honest feedback similar to my post just more professional). I’m glad I did. In both cases the delay in response was bc they were waiting to confirm with another candidate with more years direct fintech or tech experience. (which actually made me feel better whether it’s true or not). In both cases I was in the final group being considered. I guess sometimes its easy to forget that these are competitive jobs with other seriously qualified professionals seeking them out; no need to be so quick to turn it on myself. Thanks again!

I’d ask for feedback from them if you haven’t already

OP, I currently work in FinTech and I interview for our analytics & product roles. Not all places are the same, but I might be able to provide my 2 cents to help you out if you have specific questions

Do you feel like the interviews went well afterwards? Or do you feel awkward or notice that the interviewers are giving off negative vibes ?

Personally D4 I have felt they went really well. I’m fairly personable and I got past the phone screening, and multiple interviews before just not getting the offer. I had two that I was extremely confident I got the job....until 5 weeks later and after multiple follow ups that no one responded to, I get an automated rejection email

Sometimes it’s just a personality fit or someone else seemed to be a better match with management. You get to final round so I’m sure you’re doing a lot right. Don’t be discouraged

Consulting is not necessarily viewed as a talent outside. Most fintech companies look for cream of work over making funky slides. However, in your case it looks more of a bad luck considering you made it through last round. Keep trying and you will be fine.

Does anyone else sweat in your underarms after attending 2 hour-long meetings (even if you aren't the one presenting)? I noticed that's a frequent thing for me, especially during job searches. Any time I'm on zoom/attending meetings over 2 hours, I feel like I just had an ultimate interview nervous sweat session or something (but why?) Face gets heated too, pinkish.

But when I use the computer for like 9+ hours, designing, watching YT, attending webinars, etc, no nervous sweat.
