Could I get some likes to DM people? Thank you!
I live by my google calendar. If it’s not on it, it’s not happening. Probably not the best system, but it’s what I got lol.
Have an app for specific purposes. I.e. notes for to do lists and whatever. I like Evernote and having a physical planner since things get lost virtually. I also have paper/my planner with me at all times for my random moments. Also random tip, once you set an app for a specific purpose, stick to it. When things get chaotic and I begin to write my notes anywhere that has a remotely flat surface then I know that it’s over for me. 😂
Thanks! And no meds, I wanted to learn to adjust to it. Plus I was prescribed adderall before but didn’t like it. It’s all a work in progress
I used multiple calendars within Google calendar so I can categorize things and color code it. (There’s lots of YouTube vids on how to set this up but it’s pretty simple). I make sure to use the “task” option in Google calendar to break things down and you can schedule the tasks into your calendar. I also use Notion occasionally to just flush out my goals then take the tasks from Notion and copy to my Google calendar!
Outside of meds, and in no particular order: incorporate email w calendar and ACTUALLY USE the schedule task completion to correlate with said email. Single tasking timer is a game changer. Schedule walk away between focus periods - walking around the block or on a treadmill outside (dopamine hit) in actual sunlight is huuuuge as serotonin will help with mood, balance, and concentration. Drink water - adhd’ers suck at hydrating - get a smart bottle or set haptic reminder on watch. Block time on your calendar so folks aren’t free with scheduling meetings at their whim. Use voice memos - and skim at end of day to see if you left anything hanging. One Note, Evernote, or actually use all the tools in Adana/Monday/etc. You need to create a system that’s repeatable to gain some muscle memory. But always remember that out of sight is out of mind for us more than Neuro typical folks. Every tool you decide to utilize - create a wake routine on your computer so they all open in the morning. I’ve also created a rule for rabbit holes I inadvertently begin falling down - oh that’s interesting- I must fully understand this new thing and become a SME on it. When this happens, and I catch it, I hit pause, open my calendar and schedule a circle back opportunity. Half the time that break allows me to reevaluate and decide that it’s a nope, identify a better resource, or recognize that it’s perfect task to delegate. Good luck!
I only use the Notes app when I absolutely need to remember something for the future. Otherwise I jus raw dog it and don’t write it down anywhere
Lol i have an iphone so i didnt think about google calendar until a friend of mine mentioned it but i wanted to see if there was any other apps people use
I have been thinking of downloading a time management app for like a week but I never downloaded it so we’re all struggling and the only solution as far as I know is meds
Lmfaooooooo!
I used my iPhone notes extensively
Calendar and Trello
Google calendar and Google Keep
I live and die by my Apple Calendar, Notes app, and Todoist. I also use a physical Moleskine planner to keep track of academic obligations (but won’t need to pick that up for a while now that I just graduated).
I use google calendar, to do lists, and toggl to keep track of my time.
I also listen to peaceful instrumental music while I do my work so I can zone in. I feel like songs with words are distracting because next thing you know I’m looking up music videos and dancing to it 😂😂💃🏽
I also dont know how to reply to specific comments here so i have to reply in the whole comment section
Oh wait you have a student account, it works different so I guess even replies you can’t reply 🤔
Hey!
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and what I found helped me plan my day and be more aware of my time lately was the Structured app
I use google calendar religiously. also this app called minimalist, I mostly use it to list out what I need to do and stuff. I think I paid like $5 for the premium version and it’s a lifetime long so I love it!
Brilli is really great! It was made for ADHD people and is extremely helpful!
The app “Intent” is also very helpful for scheduling and planning meals
iPhone’s Apple calendar with 2 different colored accounts. I call them buckets and bucket fillers. One account has blocks of time for each task or assignment (yellow) and the other is what is scheduled (green).
Example: I label my study/school time then fill that with the name of the actual class. (Math) This allows me to block out the time the syllabus shows that I should be dedicating to each course +\- mins/hours I personally need. I also have a bucket for my non-academic time like HOME and within in that it is “making dinner” or “laundry” I set the fillers to alert me so I also have reminders of when it’s time to switch tasks. Hope this helps.
There’s an app called Fabulous: Daily Habit Tracker and I use the free version of it, not necessary to pay for premium features imo. It adds a lot of structure to my day and is really great for, well as the title says, tracking daily habits
