Of that list 3, 1, 2, 4 but I’d also look into prospect/crown heights between vanderbilt and franklin ave. It’s a great area for food and bars and is near the park.
Ft Greene!
Please no 😩
Downtown BK/BK Heights. Used to live on the border between the two, perfect location
I think of Boerum Hill as a bit quiet, but second Ft Greene and Prospect Heights.
I’m in the north-west corner of Park Slope which is basically right in between those three - and is mostly more family -friendly but there are some good restaurants and bars on 5th ave as well.
Yes prospect heights feels quite safe - especially west of Vanderbilt. I’m sure east of Vanderbilt is safe now too but it borders crown heights and used to have a bit more crime. Those are in different precincts if you’re looking at crime stats (78th vs 77th). But both are much better than 20 years ago.
Boerum Hill and Fort Greene all the way. See if you can find a spot on either Warren or Dean St in Boerum Hill. Amazing coffee shops and restaurants in the area. Added bonus: You stumble upon Ethan Hawke, Anne Hathaway and Michael Cera (Speaking from experience) :)
Brooklyn Heights doesn’t have a lot of great food options unless you are far north (close to Dumbo) or far south (close to Atlantic Ave/Cobble Hill). I lived in Brooklyn Heights for 4 years and loved it, but very much a family neighborhood (as is Cobble Hill). Downtown Bk and Boerum Hill are a bit livelier - a bit more urban, which means more places to go plus more noise and less of a neighborhood feel. Sounds like you are young and don’t have a family - so would suggest Crown Heights near Franklin Ave.
I loved living in cobble hill
