That’s what I’m in right now! I have no curriculum which is a blessing and a curse. So I was able to do whatever I want to do. I use a lot of ULS and N2Y for reading and math! I tie math and reading into life skills always. Whether it’s a coffee cart, menu math, using a phone calculator. On the other hand, Middle school is the toughest with autism because this is when hormones kick in and a lot of the time it’s keeping them alive and surviving. Let me know if you have any other questions!!
I am a mother also of a AI 33 years old. Start teaching some health Ed daily living skills. Important things like showering , using personal hygiene products, brush teeth and hair. Because of sensory issues this can be hard. Schedule your day but sometimes change it up. Things change in life. Work with families and sometimes the caregivers. They can help you and you can help them. I am presently working with adults in our local district at my ISD.

Teacher work was 30 min. If you have specific questions, let me know. It's hard-- hormones are nuts and I feel like behavior change is harder.
I use packets from Simply Special Ed, Adulting Made Easy, and Breezy Special Ed on TpT. I make the books, packets, file folders, and other lessons from those authors. I've also stated implementing a task box resource area to help my students practice fine motor skills. I also use a morning meeting book with laminated pages for the students to work with daily.
Use schedules like they are your best friend! It will help you and your students immensely.
Thank you all for the ideas! Definitely saving these.
