Help! I’m a creative person that is terrible with money, yet I find myself toiling with RSUs.

I work at Amazon and have 28 shares of AMZM vesting over the next 3 years. Next vesting period is May of this year, where 7 shares will vest.

How should I be diversifying my portfolio? I want to be able to freelance at the end of 3 years with some financial security.

I would just switch it over to VTI as you are able to sell each batch to get broad market diversification.

If you don't already also contribute to 401k, IRA, and HSA if eligible you should consider doing so for the (future) tax benefits.

I mean honestly that's not enough to be freelancing. I would want at least 6 months of total expenditures in the bank, assuming you have your first client lined up.

To diversify, we need to know what your portfolio looks like. $90K if a big portion means you probably want something unrealted to tech.

@VP1 I’ll have about 6 months worth by that time. I’m also married, own my home (also planning to sell at the end of 3 years) and am child-free. All 90k is AMZN.

Question on funding kids 529. How do you determine how much to contribute?
1) is it the max you can contribute every month? (or)
2) did you arrive at some target contribution number you are trying to hit? And if yes, any guidelines around how to approach it?

For context, moved to the US a few years back - have a five month old, house hold income around 300-350K.

Max out my Roth IRA contributions for the previous tax year (sitting at like $4k out of $6k so far) with my stimulus check, or split it up between speculative plays I think have a ton of potential? (PLTR, CCIV, Bitcoin, and Ethereum)

Roth IRA is 100% allocated to the Vanguard Windsor fund btw. I’m 23 and think risky plays while your young are the only way you ever truly make it, but recognize the benefits of maxing Roth IRA YOY. Help!

Is anyone else finding it difficult to get a raise this year because of market conditions? I have consult with RE coming up next month to potentially start IVF. I’m not happy where I’m (job/company) and looking to switch. Current job has good fertility benefits. Wondering if I switch jobs, do fertility benefits typically kick in as soon as you start or there is a delay when you become eligible? Anyone has gone through this or know?

Hey all - first year associate here… I’ve met my hours requirement for this year (requirement is 1900 and am currently at around 2050 with billable hours - approx. 2160 with non billable admin hours) and I am just tired. Is it okay to just “disappear” during the holidays (thanksgiving week, week of Christmas) and let partners and senior associates know I am not available? At this point I don’t care about making more money - I just want to sleep, read a good trashy book, and cuddle with my dog.
