RTR a fabulous dress that youāll feel great in as you are!
And keep focused on healthy eating and exercise for long term / the next family event.
Donāt know where you are, but nyc has a real store you can try dresses on at. Other cities do too. Iām busty and this is very helpful :)
Diet and exercise honestly, cut out all sugars, unhealthy fats, and processed foods. Work out every day: alternate the workout type. Should be able to lose a few with portion control (calorie deficit) and exercising (calorie deficit).
Awesome, thank you EY1 - I love my gym so daily work outs should be doable (and I can walk to it - no excuses).
In 10 days, you could probably drop 4-5 lbs healthily, assuming some of that is water weight. In order to do that you should a) cut most carbohydrates out of your diet (look at macro calculators), b) restrict your calories to 1200 or so per day (maybe 1400-1500 if you're tall or 1200 is too hard), and c) up your cardio (for example, go on a walk every day, ideally at an incline).
Cutting out the carbs should help decrease your calories and will also cause you to drop some water weight (some of which will come back once you reintroduce carbs to your diet). For the next couple weeks, focus on having your only carbs come from fruits and veggies. A calorie counting app is probably your best bet to lose actual fat though. Cutting out alcohol is also a great step.
Good luck!
Thank you SO much, SC1. This was really helpful.
In the short term, try to get rid of extra water weight and bloating! Avoid salty, carb heavy food and eat clean
Intermittent fasting, but the easier version. Eat dinner early, and then eat breakfast later in the morning. For me thatās 6pm dinner and 10am or later breakfast. Makes a fair bit of difference for me.
Thank you both. Tried IF and it didnāt work well for me but an earlier dinner is something I will try to incorporate!
Howās it going, OP? You inspired me!
Iāve lost since end of January somehow (about 8 lbs when I weighed myself in late March). I would love to be able to drop a few lbs in the next 10 days. Without being totally unhealthy, any tips? Iām going to completely stop drinking and cut out dairy. Anything else thatās worked for you in a pinch? Thank you š¤
No wheat / gluten either. Veggies and protein only
Juice cleanse (3 days). I did it for the same reason. Youāre only losing water weight so itāll come back, but youāll drop 5-10 lbs easy if you stick with it. I think I ordered mine for $100 on some juice website. Iām normally an enormous eater and after the first half day I actually didnāt find myself hungry at all, but I was dying to chew something by the end of the third day!
Second the juice cleanse. Some of my friends have done them right before tropical vacations and they are very effective in helping you drop a few pounds fast. Mostly water weight but that works if this is for a targeted event.
Stay away from anything salty!
Thatās so hard š
Running gets me in shape the fastest. I run in the AM and at night, do weightlifting to up my resting caloric burn and only eat in the middle of the day- things like eggs, hummus, avocado, nuts, for satiety and salad greens for volume. I can see my body lose up to a pound a day.
It takes a 3500 calorie deficit to lose a pound...even if you consumed 0 calories in a day, you would still have to burn at least over 1000 calories through exercise (assuming youāre an average size and weight) to lose one pound. Maybe youāre thinking water weight? My weight also fluctuates a couple pounds day to day from poop, water, bloating, periods, etc
Cut out carbs and drink a ton of water
For 10 days if this is really a big goal I would cut down to 800 calories and definitely no dairy/alcohol. Also cut out meat if you want to clear out your system and get things moving out of your body.
Nope. Unless you're under 4'10" and completely sedentary, you shouldn't be going under 1,000, on average. If you're over 5', 1200 is the general floor if you're sendentary. Otherwise your body will start taking energy from places it shouldn't because you're not getting enough energy to fuel for basic metabolic functions.
Once in a while is fine, but for 10 days straight? That's a great way to damage your cardiovascular system and shouldn't be given as advice to people.
