Any advice on how to approach your Google manager about turning your role into 60% part-time (3 days/week)? I know there is business need for role, so would be hit to the team, but I’m feeling burn out hard and don’t see how I can last much longer. Figure it would be better to go part time than leave altogether, but can’t really say that to my manager. Any way to explore this without blowing everything up?
How do those of you working as independent contractors land projects? I've just gone through agencies so far, doing my best to weed out the sketchy/stingy ones. I know of some of the big consulting firm talent boards for contractors, but haven't had any luck with those so far. There aren't a ton of projects on those.
usebraintrust.com seems like an interesting model in cutting out the middleman. Unfortunatey, I didn't do good enough on the interview.

Definitely ask about the shops creative vision, what kind of work they wanna get into, what kind of clients they want to have, also how they develop talent is a big one.
Thank you!
Try to see if your tastes align. Ask about favorite work. And be prepared to discuss work you admire. Also, work ethic. If you work hard, you want to be surrounded by others who push just as hard. If you are chill, you wouldn’t want to be on a team that works 24/7.
Ask to meet the team. See if personalities are a match. Can you see yourself working until 2am with them?
