So, no school today for students, but a professional day for us. Central office won’t let us work from home (NO meetings or trainings scheduled). No offense, but what crap!
Our hospital only really has COVID information in Enlglish and Spanish. In need of materials that we can give out in any language to inform people how to stay healthy
Went to Disney World. Never felt safer. Took a Covid test - negative. Safely reopening is totally possible!
🎉🎉 With the news of Pfizer’s potential vaccine and this, I feel more confident that America will beat this virus under a new administration. https://www.npr.org/sections/live-updates-2020-election-results/2020/11/09/933002962/president-elect-biden-names-13-experts-to-covid-19-transition-advisory-board
Should I move to NYC in the fall for graduate school or take classes remotely for the time being? Would be coming from a low Covid zone and would obviously quarantine for the first two weeks. Question is around whether you think it’s “worth it”. 1/3 of my classes will be held in person.
The covid WFH budget should be higher in general but especially higher for 2020 new hires. 300 bucks is nothing if you have to buy a new monitor, desk, ergonomic chair, mouse, keyboard, etc etc. At least those who were in office at some point had a chance to grab monitors and equipment from office. Covid task force should consider this as an idea to improve wfh life !
Art Directors and Designers, what does your WFH work station look like? I’d like to upgrade mine to be more robust than just my laptop.
I’ve realized how much people are like sheep through this whole coronavirus thing. I think my whole view of humanity is irreversibly changed.
Something that's been on my mind is how working remote is actually potentially helping the chronically ill. (At least, it's helping me). I have several chronic conditions - physical and emotional. I have struggled noticeably since I first started working full time - when you're chronically ill, such a rigid schedule and environment can really make certain conditions worse. I'll continue below by describing how much better I'm doing and also thoughts on how to proceed as we go back to "normal"
I live in SF and my bf in LA. He doesn’t have any family in the area and I wanted to drive down to stay with him since were remote. Is this a bad idea or would driving down be safer than flying?
After COVID19 settles, I am planning on transferring offices. Right now I am looking at two very different cities: Chicago vs Miami. Any thoughts for a young couple, no kids?
If you are pending i485 approval and received EAD combo card and interview was cancelled before covid, is your process on hold now? What’s the latest status status for people at this stage?
Does anyone here regularly use digital remittance services? I wanna send money monthly to my folks, who have been financially hit by Covid, and have never done this before. Ideally something where they don’t have to go pick up but goes straight to their account. In I’m Canada and they’re in South America.
For those of you who spent a long time in big law (at least 10 years but more along the lines of 15+), when did you know it was time to do something else (maybe in the law, maybe not)? I don’t know if it’s wfh or just the work now, but I’m finding myself getting amazingly frustrated at things that barely bothered me before. I had an argument with opposing counsel last week and was seeing red for hours after that, and little things seem to bother me much much more than they would have before
How has working from home impacted your billable hours? What we’re your best and worst days for billing since WFH started?
Looking to upgrade/boost my FIOS Gigabit internet for WFH. Router is in the basement and WiFi is spotty throughout the house. Does anyone have experience with Google Mesh or Amazon Eero Mesh networks to address dead spots?
Breaking up in your 30s seems unusually challenging, that too just pre-covid.. i wasted important years of my life after someone very wrong. Feels like im gonna die alone.. 😕 anyone experience this in their life?
Massive layoffs happened on Friday, and my CD was let go. He hired me, and we had a great work relationship. Today I just feel lost and weird. He won't be replaced because there's "no budget"...
I’m doing some personal research to understand how companies are helping their employees working from home in the current WFH climate. I’m hoping to distribute these results to help spark change in how people are being supported by their employers. Please help me by filling out this short (less than five minute) survey. I also have a few Amazon gift cards to randomly give away so I can get enough responses! http://bit.ly/wfh2020study
Your best Uber driver story? I had a freak portlandia driver describe her and her husbands weed growing business all the way to pdx
Kinda related since I want a healthy dog but any apartment living shiba inu, beagle, or corgi owners here? Debating between the 3 and want to ensure I can give them a proper healthy active lifestyle since I know all are fairly active. Have previously owned a beagle but lived at home so it was easy to give her enough exercise. Given we’re all WFH, it’s fairly easy I imagine to satiate the activity needed. However, I have a couple Qs based on when we eventually go back to the office...
Do you think having planning/strategy comms experience helps with ad creative/concepting role later down the track? 🤔
In San Francisco for two days by myself, looking to have some good meals (<$100) and take walks in nice neighborhoods. Recs?
Who's up for a Zoom networking happy hour? No set time yet, just gauging interest. Share career experiences, get to know the broader industry better, and swap war stories!
Tfw the senior partner comes into the hotel gym and does considerably more ab bicycle kicks and dumbbell chest presses than you... #TeachMeOGreatOne
Has anybody worked at MBB offices in India? What is the comp like for one level below Manager? What is the culture like?
Any tips on better presenting ideas/campaigns both internally and towards the client? I tend to be quick and to the point, which has it's warranted moments, but I'm not the strongest at fully walking through the story and having 'finesse'
Does anyone have a aPHR? Is it worth it? If you do have one, dos you pay for any of the prep classes and how long did it take you to study for it? Do you have any suggestions/recommendations for good certifications/ free to low cost classes for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion worker?

Inflight to DFW. Guy in middle seat orders a club soda. He then proceeds to pull out a ziplock bag with lime slices for his club soda. I have so many questions... #holidaytravel
