A well suited EA should be able to answer this with no hesitation. I’m not saying you aren’t well suited, but don’t overthink things! Be confident in what you bring to the table. Ask him to dive a little deeper into what a ‘typical’ week looks like for him, what his goals are for himself, the org, etc. What does success look like for him? You can then explain how having you on his team can be instrumental in achieving X, Y, Z. Use examples from previous experience to demonstrate why having a kickass EA is a game changer. Are you able to tailor this role? If he doesn’t have an EA, does anyone else in the org have one? Be sure you have a clear job scope/outline so that you can your own performance as well as map a growth path. Set yourself up for success. And after having this robust discussion, HE should be able to answer why he should hire you. Good luck!
Hmm. You can list some of the tasks you can do for the CEO and then approximate how much time will be saved versus the alternative. How did you make the CCO’s work life easier? Mention scenarios. GOOD LUCK! 🍀
Look up other EA to CEO job reqs and see what is required. I would think if you can do the job, you should know what you can take off their plate. Don’t get in over your head!
Just picky back off of that. You want to support them and it’s actually healthy to have them delegate tasks to different people and not carry all of the weight. Behind a successful CEO is a great EA who is their backbone.
