Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

No one seems to care about coming to office. When i asked manager if i can work remote i was told that its for my career development. Can you guys tell in Canada which companies are offering remote opportunities?

I’m not a skilled negotiator either, but I’ve picked up some tricks over the years from experience and movies.
The first tip is not to give up any information you don’t need to, so definitely don’t tell them how much the other offer is for.
The second tip is to make it clear you can walk away, so do let them know you have competing offer in hand.
The third tip is to negotiate from a position of strength, so threaten to kill the hostages if you don’t see a helicopter in 30 minutes while silently digging a tunnel out through the vault floor.
Um 👀
Tell Company B the offer you wanted. Don’t over analyze this, HR just needs the number and will make a decision based on that. No need to explain anything.
Add 20% to offer A and throw to company B. That’s it.
They cannot ask. Ethically and legally you cannot share. Bear in mind that companies ask for this to be able to lowball you. So share accordingly.
Well first, why do they know about Company A? Next time dont tell them about competing offers like that IMO.
Next, give your range. Do not disclose what Company A gave you. Frame it like you would be more interested in B, but your desired income is X.
If the decision is today regardless then it shouldnt matter youre on a deadline. Say you want fair market value and back it up
Which job do you want more?
Help pls! I’m not a skilled negotiator. Company A gave me an offer that’s ~20k lower than what I wanted, but negotiation is ongoing with them. Company B told me they’re making a hiring decision today, and wants to know Offer A numbers so they can be efficient in the negotiation process. (Bear in mind they have not even decided to give me an offer yet.)
How do I reply to company B? Do I give MY range that’s 20k higher? How do I phrase it? Or do I just not give any number at all?
More context:
I need to reply to Company A by Monday; Company B knows that and they said that’s why they want to know Offer A, so that *if they choose me*, they can quickly give me a compelling offer given my short turnaround time.
If everything is equal in terms of the job except pay, I dn personally would tell company B wat I am looking for and if they meet it I will accept there job regardless of company A counter offer
Short answer: Tell them your desired salary.
Long answer: It is immaterial what the other offer is. There is no relationship between that offer and this one. Also, monetary amounts are not always equivalent when considering total compensation. In addition you haven’t reflected what your preference would be or whether staying at your current position is an option. Those all would adjust your overall decision making process. In the end don’t over-think this. Tell them your number and they either say yes, no, or return a different one.
Thanks M1. They already *know* what my desired salary was from prior conversations, so I thought they were really pushing me to give a number from Offer A. But understood, I should just give the desired salary again.
Who cares what co a offered tell co b what you need to accept
Thanks so much for your replies, everyone. Finally leveling up my negotiation skills through this experience and your input.
On a higher level I would suggest that you keep in mind that this is all business and not personal. I know it can feel personal and get into a whole feeling of acceptance/rejection. Honestly I’ve never totally gotten passed that but the more I’ve conceptualized the entire process as strictly transactional the better of a negotiator I’ve become.
