I have been in IA consulting for 4 years but I feel very lost in my career because it’s just not the kind of work I enjoy at all. Do I go for IA in industry? And entirely new field? My morale since covid has been so low and it’s difficult to think these things through sometimes.
Currently at Big 4 management consulting post-MBA. Have offers with MBB and FAANG (strategy). Similar comp. Which would you take?
Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?
Interviewed with Microsoft 2 weeks ago. Still haven’t heard back and no response from the recruiter after emailing. Assuming they have chosen a diff candidate - seems unprofessional they didn’t call?
I’m 25. Not a saver. Never have been. I’m not sure why, but I dislike the idea of locking money away in a 401K. Is saving really that important? Are there non 401K options?
O'hare Missed flight Consultants meetup group - To all the folks who had missed their flight due to fucked up TSA lines, let's meet at some bar and try to make our day better 🍻
Having a tough time going from a regional public firm to industry. Had a few interviews and haven't gotten any offers. Even have my CPA license. Sigh.
Not even applying to an awesome job I'm a perfect fit for because it's a 50% pay cut #consultingruinedme #fml
I think PGA/LPGA camera operators are very under appreciated. I mean, the skill it takes to spot, zoom in, and track a tiny golf ball flying through the air at 150+mph over and over and from multiple angles is incredible. I literally can’t follow my own golf ball leaving my club much less someone else’s with a camera mounted on my shoulder.
Have an interview with a streaming tech company in a data analytics & consulting role. Any suggestions on how to prepare for case interview round?
