Helping with take home assignments of friends interviewing for your company - thoughts?

I think it’s fine as long as you don’t single handedly do the whole thing for them. In the real world they will be working with and getting help from other people anyways

like

They would only find out if your friend truly didn’t try to understand and solve the assignment themselves even after getting help

I did this with multiple friends. All are doing well in their new roles. Don’t think too much. We all get by with a little help from our friends.

like

I’m all for being a sounding board and letting someone talk it through with me, ask questions etc. As long as I’m not doing the work for them. I mean bouncing ideas off people in consulting is common and not a bad idea.

like

If they aren’t able to deliver the quality of work needed on there own that is necessary to get the job, you are potentially setting them up for failure. While I get why you would want to help, it may actually be hurting them. Of course there are anomalies

like

Not knowing your friend, I can’t say. But perhaps explain why you said “no” to the request, and how it can ultimately hurt them.

I'm getting ready to accept an offer at a new agency, but what I really want is to go in-house. I had 6 very positive interviews at a co. but lost out by a hair. They said they're growing & would keep me in mind for future relevant openings. Is it worth pinging that co's recruiter to let her know I'm considering a role at a new agency & ask if they expect any openings soon? Feels unlikely, but I'd hate to start a new job and then get a call from the company I actually want to work for.

Should I keep applying or give up? I graduated from a mediocre law school 10 years ago (cum laude) and have a tax llm from a good school but mediocre grades(3.1) . I am licensed. I interviewed with a small firm today - it's an intellectual step down - I can't do that. Big law still an option or stop disappointing myself?

Was wondering if hiring was put on hold

Have two offers and unsure which to take. Ex Big 4 and have done software startups since. Option 1: Director role back in Big 4. Good package. Good fit with my area of expertise, focusing on tech solutions and partnering with startups. Working across all industries and clients. Option 2: Big Tech/GAFAM (level = L6 google/e6 FB/65 Microsoft, which I’m told is Director equivalent) Even better package. Account Technology Strategist. Less client diversity but using breadth of their tech.
