Hi All, I am anjani working as SAP PI/PO CONSULTANT would like to change the company if any openings are there please let me know. I am having 3.5 years of experience. Thanks.
Applying to industry after 2 yrs in a data-heavy strategy consulting role, and running into an odd problem: people are automatically putting me into a "heavy-quant" box and becoming apprehensive of my fit for a business role (strategy, FP&A, etc). 2 Qs: 1. Does this sound plausible, or am I overthinking based on a small sample? 2. How would you highlight your fit/interest in moderately quantitative roles? Consultants generally like my "Context> result> personal contribution" format of bullets
Feeling stuck in my role, but unsure of my next move. Move agencies? Stick to social/PR? Acct mgmt? Get an MBA to become an eventual brand mgr? I’m so overwhelmed and feel like I have to specialize.
Interviewing for a great position in industry (tech). They have equity comp & great benefits. Spoke to their HR, then interviewed with 2 people in the tax department and am getting scheduled for a next round of interviews. The only problem is: the office is about 1 hr from my house (I own). They said repeatedly that they want someone who will be in the office 5 days a week. I would actually move but can’t rent out my place now due to some repairs going on that will take 4-5 months. Thoughts?
Broadly speaking, for a given generic consulting role, which B4 firm pays the most? Which pays the least?
I'm SM with offer to exit but I've spent a fair amount of time engaging client at the csuite and board level. Got offers in tech (strategy& ops) but worried about lack of visibility/sexy work. Cont..
Well I'm gonna ask for help on here, anyone know if their firm is hiring in consulting either S&O or HC?
Looking for fellow applicants (round 1 targeting M7). Extremely nervous about submitting and torn between shooting for MBA and seizing the current hiring spree.
Ladies who have been promoted to a manager role, what would you say is the greatest different between it and your time as a consultant/senior consultant? I know this varies slightly between firms but I’m considering going for a manager promotion down the line but want to make sure I’m comfortable with what will be expected of me (and see what I need to work on to be successful).
Anyone hiring? Looking to get into Cyber Commercial on the tech side. Trying to leave the Fed side. The job hunting struggle is real 😔.
Currently a sr. analyst at ACN in strategy looking to make a jump. Anyone willing to make a referral to MBB/OW/ATK/LEK?
Looking for advice! I work in tax law - I did ~3 years at a small firm after law school, got my LLM while working full time, then transitioned to a position in-house where I’ve been ~1 year. I dislike the company’s lack of transparency, it’s internal management structure, and the politics in the tax law department in particular. On top of that, I’m already feeling burnt out (likely due to the work volume and multiple forced resignations in my dept in the past couple months).CONTINUED IN COMMENTS
Do any of the MBBs consult for FAANG or top tech companies? Or do all those companies exclusively use in house strategy teams? If any MBB does, a referral would be much appreciated
ITW Illinois Tool Woks is another loser. I'm sharing all active trades. this is another re-opening trade. I opened this at the end of November, and the long is down about 45%. The trade is only down about 15% though as the shorts have been rolled a few times already. Since I have 82 more days in the long, I can roll the shorts at least 7 times and even at $1 each the trade is a small winner. If TIW even goes down another 50% it becomes a decent winner.
A CRO offerred me an internal consulting/biz dev role. They offered 145k TC (20% bump) and slightly better benefits. They also offered accelerated path (6mo to 1yr) to MC. While promotion to MC at my current company is at least 1 year away. The job is interesting to me and fits my careery goal. But my big concern is that I've only been with my current company for a year (this is my first job, post PhD). Would this affect my resume in the future in terms of being viewed as "job hopping"?
For anyone who needs something good to hear today... after 9 months of the job search - I finally got two offers for my dream position in two different non-profits. Put in my two weeks!!
Can someone help me with interview questions for tax position at Salesforce? Do they ask tax technical questions or it’s just behavioral/ situational?Salesforce
Piggybacking off the manager post below. SA3 currently at 115k NYC. What kinds of exit opportunities are available for me? Should I stay for promotion? What would I reasonably get?
Is today nail in the coffeen for GME. It was expensive lesson for retail trades. Even we say wall st won here but no one really know how much HF lost. May be big enough to not do this again with any company in future
Told my pregnant sister yesterday for the first time that I don’t want kids (fear of having a special needs child + thinking of the world I would be bringing them into) and her first response was “not everyone wants to nurture and take care of others” and went on about how she has always been someone who takes care of others. It’s so upsetting that this is the kind of judgement women place on others when they say they don’t want children. Child free women how do you manage?
Had an interview 2 weeks ago that went really well. Haven’t heard a yes or no just emails asking me to stay tuned. What does that mean? Am I on a waiting list?
Hey 🐠, I’m trying to understand if I need to be looking for lateral exit opportunities from a compensation perspective. I’m a Manager in the M&A IT practice, 12 YOE (7 in Tech and 5 in Consulting). I am happy with the work I do and the people I work with are tolerable. New base salary is $178K starting this month. Asking because I’ve heard that people should keep jumping from one company to another in Consulting to have a competitive comp. Basically guys, is my compensation competitive?
Hi!! Has anyone here interviewed for an AWS role? I’ve linked the role below. My dad is interviewing for this role and I would love to give him some tips on how to suceed. He’s super excited! I’m less technical and he’s an immigrant so want to help him prepare the best I can! Any advice on interviewing at Amazon in general/this role would be helpful! Check out this job at Amazon Web Services (AWS): Senior Database Consultant https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2601054269
If I did not hear back for interviews in extended round 3, do I have no chance for fall 2020?
Many Big(?)4 mgrs /srmgrs /prtnrs remain traditional & creative-less: unable to stretch thinking / writing / comms beyond their mental-borders ——> they forcefully remain anti-immigration
What’s the end goal for tech consultants at a big 4? Is it partnership? What if you want to remain technical / not lose tech skills? I enjoy problem solving but seem but also enjoy being client facing and feel like I’m at a crossroad
is it possible to study in person while working for a Big 4? I ask specifically bc of the traveling
Anyone have an app or Excel spreadsheet they use to keep track of utilization? We just switched systems and our new system doesn’t give us a real time balance of our utilization rate (cont)
Booking an international flex trip.. charge it to the WBS and pay the difference or expense it? Trying to get around the auditors
Do you think parental leave policies and the culture around it at your company are fair?
I started my career with my firm in my hometown (~60k population). After a few years I decided I wanted to go to a larger city (260k population) and thought my life world change as I was a driven single 26 year old. I got two promotions, but personally I don’t feel like I have any ties to the city and had better luck dating but didn’t find the one yet. Now since WFH started I’ve been mostly living in my hometown and am thinking about moving back. Cont…
Does EY have any mortgage benefits that we should look into? Any discounts or anything? I'm trying to search... not finding much but swear someone said we did.
Got an offer from FANG in Jan, currently in Big 4. H-1B Visa transfer to new employer is taking longer than planned due to RFE and additional details required. Employer planning to withdraw the offer.
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
