Here’s a question for people with insight into the vaccine trial/approval/distribution process (assume there have to be some of you on here): assuming things go as well as they can for the Pfizer vaccine from here on out (ie it gets interim approval by the end of the year, no unexpected hiccups in subsequent trials, etc), when do you think we’d actually see people being vaccinated on a mass scale? Spring 2021?

I think Autumn 2021 would be where I would set expectations.

Once the vaccine is approved, then they need to manufacture batches for stability testing and then perform stability testing, validate all production lines where vaccine will be produced, and get all of this approved by the FDA.

This assumes they're already setting up a huge amount of production lines with capacity to manufacture the required amount of vaccine.

Aside from the manufacturing, they will need to establish the cold chain to distribute the vaccines as well as determine process for distribution.

Typical timeline would be 18 months, but given the acceleration and focus behind this a year might be reasonable.

No insight but the J&J vaccine is looking for volunteers for the next step.

At this moment, I am almost depressed. I am in a relationship with this guy for 2 years now. In the past 2 years, we have fought more than we have lived days with peace. We both have high ego problems because of which it’s really hard to resolve a conflict. Things have recently escalated to calling names/swearing and even physically abuse from both sides. We both want to end the relationship, have tried so many times, but we cannot.

I just learned about rejection sensitive dysphoria. It describes that feeling of severe emotional pain tied to rejection or failure. And it is associated with ADHD. This explains so much about me and how I approach the world and my job. This feels like important information although I don’t know how to use it yet.

Has anyone ever gone on disability at a law firm where you’re the only paralegal to the partner of the firm? I’m worried I’ll be replaced while I’m out or that I’ll be letting him down. Fellow gay fish. Thoughts on a PPO v HDHP (w/ HSA) for health insurance? I’ve always done the PPO with higher premiums because the high deductible scares me, especially with 4+ visits to PCP and lab draws, plus other STI testing. What’s the avg salary for a Site manager with a Bachelors degree for a FQHC in South Florida?

How much should I charge a friend to watch 4 dogs at their home over Christmas weekend (2 nights)? The dogs don't have any special needs or medications. I've dog sat for other people in the past but always for free. I also have had dogs of my own for most of my life. I want to start charging people for my services but also want to be reasonable since this is a friend and don't plan to charge a holiday fee. We live in St. Louis. Would $40 per day/night be reasonable?

I'm a 3rd-year corporate transactional attorney with a private firm. Around 50 attorneys, which is as big as it gets for the state I'm in. I've become disillusioned with the partnership track career path fairly quickly and don't think it's for me. Before taking a large pivot and leaving the law entirety, I've thought about going in-house.
(1) Are there any downsides to going in-house too early?
(2) Would it make it more difficult to go back to private practice if I don't like that experience?
