Here's a question, why don't employers try to work with employees to figure out what is wrong, before they quit? Before quitting a company I've exhibited the classic signs of being withdrawn and not giving my best effort. However, no one pulled me in and tried to have a one-on-one regarding the issues.

Have you told the employer you were unhappy or needed things to change? Employers can’t read minds, and aren’t likely to start bending over backwards and offering improvements to someone who isn’t giving their best effort.

You do realize that talking to your employer about issues can sometime trigger than thinking it's time to backfill your position. So many people keep their mouth shut, knowing that their employer is generally looking out for themselves and their best interest.

Some companies simply aren't interested in their employees other than their performance. So you might have been hitting your marks even though on a personal level you were unhappy? Do I assume this was with the Dept of State?

No, different company.

Unfortunately they don't really worry about your mood most of the time, or your general satisfaction. I do think it's a bad sign if your manager isn't trying to make sure you're doing your job/there are things falling through the cracks, but they probably will give you slack for any kind of personal behavior. At least, it's not baseline required.

There’s a ‘Freelancers Master Class’ thing going around on LinkedIn. A couple of seasoned cd/freelancers put together some lessons in optimizing it all. Anyone sign up? Any real discoveries in the content?

Just joined a new small firm about a month ago and I haven’t done anything in weeks after the first week of trainings and a weekly bench call. No one is reaching out to me. I think they’ve forgotten they hired me. What do I do?

Hey guys, I interviewed with Wipro a week back. I had the final HR round and every process is done. But the HR is saying that she is waiting for approval for my salary. Only after that she can release the offer letter. It's been more than a week since that discussion. How much time does it take from final HR interview to getting the offer letter?

Applied to a new school. It is in a middle school and I have no secondary experience, only elementary. Any tips for my demo such as in behavior management/lesson planning? Greatly appreciated!

As a US citizen, would you ever relocate to Europe? Why or why not? Idk but life in general just seems better there.

When applying to my next employer, do they need to know/do they find out that I was on short term disability at one point while at my current employer? I fear this would ding me as they would view me as a potential risk.

Get the interview

Any new consulting deck leaks? I really enjoyed reading the covid McK and BCG ones.

Trying to switch job, currently in tech consulting at big 4 under H1B. Is it easier to get H1B transfer approved for roles that don’t have people management responsibilities? I thought I heard that somewhere

Hi, What's the hiring process for IBM. How many rounds do they conduct. In which how many are technical rounds

ISO Manager salary range for Corporate Functions (marketing) at Big 4s. Thanks if you have any insights!

Need in-law advice. We’ve been very careful with COVID. Our children are too young to be vaccinated. We are visiting parents-in-law (elderly, vaccinated) and sister-in-law (her and her husband vaccinated, two small kids aren’t but they arrived early and are past incubation period). This is an isolated lake house. Turns out this whole other family is staying in the house. We weren’t informed. They are not vaccinated yet all are eligible. One, a camp counselor, is now ill w/ fever, cough, etc.

when your project is over budget but somehow finds $10K for the holiday party 💁🏼

Do I stand a chance in consulting? Background: bachelors (GPA 3.5) and masters (GPA 3.8) in accounting, 1.5 years of experience in tax at PwC as associate. Currently on H1B visa. I don’t have any consulting experience, maybe just a few cases at school. I don’t consider myself aggressive, I’m more of a laid-back person. Im hard working and don’t mind working high hours. The reason I want to make the switch is 1) I think consulting work is generally more interesting; 2) more exit opportunitie

Is it true that client side pays more than agency? And if anyone is open to disclose what their salary jump was?
