Well one thing is for sure that sapient did a lot of PR exercise to hide the reality on glass door via fake comments. It surely has hire and fire policy. With winter coming for IT services, please exercise caution if you are the bread earner for ur family.

Unsolicited advice - don't be intimidated by HR. Record the discussion on phone. Ask for min 2 months of severance, gratuity, paid leave encashment, medical insurance.

Make sure you can record that there is no performance reason for layoff

If you are on probation, legally your notice is just 30 days so how can you ask for 2 months? Also they are mostly targeting people on probation and on bench who could not be placed in any project. They will just say poor performance.

They did the same in 2020, 2021 many times then many demand increased they have to do increment twice in a year, promotions & hike to reduce attrition with hiring. Seems like they pulled it twice so making a norm since India has lot of talented resources on low salary due to many reasons. Upper management is like do nothing but make money by margins, don't let settle good enough newly hired people who can compete them in good way.
