^^^ I can confirm with M1, I used to be AFS in DC (Ballston, Arlington, VA). It’s VERY segregated. And is very difficult to mingle and cross over without HR getting involved heavily. I used to have to fill out a form every 6 months to continue being friends with my friends from Commercial with HR. The separation is real.
Treated like 2 different companies. Some things overlap, but for the most part everything is separate. The D.C. office shares same building, but different floors. Outside of D.C. and San Antonio, there really isn't an AFS presence. Might be a few client specific offices for AFS resources outside of these locations, otherwise it is an act of Congress to visit a commercial office and work for the day.
Honestly 4 years later, I’m still scarred by the fear of getting caught of talking to someone in commercial and I don’t even work for ACN anymore....
Thanks M1! Agree w Analyst 1, wouldn’t describe what you said as competitive intel at all. I’m actually in an argument with someone about how separate fed is in different companies.
In your DC office, do you occupy the whole building (still all ACN)? Or is there a different company between federal and commercial floors (more physical separation)?
Years ago CGI had some similar, but less stringent rules. Federal was in a separate building. Non-Federal staff had to sign-in. However, Federal staff didn’t have similar rules when visiting non-Federal buildings. I think it was tied to CGI being a non-US company, but the Federal practice being a separate US company. Is Accenture the same?
This sounds like a question right out of a separation discussion guide... divestiture?
