I applied to obtain second masters & won’t no longer obtain tuition benefits. (I had to resign from a toxic environment. )
PRO: a great way to network, enhance my skills, have time to transition in program, focus on career development. CON: 50k+ debt.. Is it worth being in additional 50k debt. (I have an MBA.. second masters is business analytics.)
PS. The org I resigned from is where I’ll be obtaining my second masters.

How to submit my application? There is no option in front my of certification, it just says your application fees has been submitted
Wrestling with worth: I’m a VP at a mortgage firm in the Maryland / DC area. I’m post-MBA (non-target) with a finance undergrad and 13 YoE in marketing including consulting. I’m at $135K base after this last year of pressing for increases - and looking at exiting. How underpaid am I? What should I be targeting? I do the research, but I just need some coaching from women who live it also. I love my company, but I don’t think they love me.

I was a month in as Workday HCM Consultant with Accenture. They immediately throw me into the HCM courses to obtain my WD HCM certification. There are three parts HCM Essentials, HCM Applied, and HCM Practical. The passing score is 70 or above. I scored a 62 on the Essentials portion, I passed Applied, and at the end of this week Practical. During class, I received an “immediate connect” Team call and I was fired because of my low score. I'm devastated, and shocked. Yesterday was my birthday.

Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.
I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

Hi! Does anyone have any recs for certificates/licenses or anything that helped them in their career? I’m not really looking to get my series 7 but if it really helps in terms of pay and getting an advantage for jobs I’d love to know. PMP, SIE, etc. anything along these lines?
Im still navigating where I fit in the finance world but I know I’m not really looking to be a financial adviser.

Found out today I’m 5 weeks pregnant. I am not sleeping well at night, feeling tired all day and at times about to fall asleep at my desk. It’s not affecting my work product per se but I takes me more time to go through things (I cannot keep a steady 8hr of billing). Should I tell the people I work with? They’re women with kids so I think (hope) they’d understand but I also started recently at the firm and the go-to advice seems to be just wait until 3mos…
I have an offer of cognizant, but I am confused, should I join or not this company, I heard a lot of lay off and firing news about cognizant also the work life balance is not good there,

Does scaler academy really helps?
I got a call from them to switch to product based company after completing ther well guided course.
Has someone went through this and got selected in any product based company or have some idea if this is really going to help me career wise?
Or should I switch to service based companies only as of now.

I am beginning to find a job in the USA. I have a masters degree from India and about 1.5 years experience in tech sales. Is there anyone who has done this and can give me a first hand experience of what it entails?
Additional Posts in Asians in Consulting
Asian In Consulting fam - my mom reuses very old Tupperware and take out containers (I’m sure y’all can relate) to pack up food for me and my sister. They’re old, falling apart, and I swear the plastic is melting.
What Tupperware do you recommend for Asian mamas that like to cook large quantities of food? In particular soup, and what will go well for soups that are still hot (I worry about the plastic melting). Ty!!
What does fetishisation of Asian women mean in the American context? What are its ramifications on Asian women? I am new to this country.
We need to do better.
Deloitte just published its DEI report and the data confirms that the bamboo ceiling is very real. Asian representation is pretty good until manager level and then plummets at the SM and PPMD level
Anyone else a conservative, and if so, recommendations for a conservative friendly place for Asians to live in the states?
Chloe Kim and Nathan Chen 👏🏼👏🏼
Its deplorable and disheartening to see the recent trend is anti-AAPI hate crimes across the US. While many of us are lucky to not be physically harmed, emotional stress, micro-aggressions, racism, gaslighting and stereotyping have always existed. On a positive swing of things, how have you overcome this adversity? How have you developed allies? How have you overcome the "bamboo ceiling"? Looking for stories of victories in calling out racism.
I don’t mean to fearmonger, but as an Asian woman in New York, these senseless crimes have made me feel especially h targeted and unsafe. Anyone in New York share this sentiment? What precautions are you taking?
99% of the people who talked about HK in recent times didn't give a shit about HK before it became (even more of) a political symbol to circle jerk over.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
I’m assuming this bowl is the East Asian bowl.
Internalized racism is the biggest demon Asians are facing today. As someone who grew up in Asia, it's hard to understand that mindset.
Why do you put up with Asian jokes?
Why do you refuse to date Asians?
Why don't you fight for our justice?
I have so many questions. If you don't respect yourself, how can you expect others to respect you. You hate being us, but I bet you still love sushi, pho and use technology created by us.
People don't have the power unless you choose to give them.
NYPD caught the street attacker... who was already on lifetime parole for stabbing his mother to death.
I lied about my race on my apps and got into an M7.
I regret nothing.
For clarity: got into Two M7s, an interview at an HSW, and 3 other top 10s (with a half scholarship at one of them)
For more background on me- im an east asian female, went to a UC, 3.8 gpa, 760/8/6 gmat. Where would this get me?
Stats (GPA and GMAT): unfortunately it’s the reality that as an ORM, this is a basic necessity. Good thing is you check this box!
Recs: my take is that unless one of your recs is from a “high-profile” individual who can also write a very intimate letter, then your recs are also a basic necessity (assuming your writers are writing intimate letters).
Story: this is where you can add a lot of value and where you can stand out from other candidates. Sure there are a sea of consultants also applying, but I’m confident your future goals and past experiences are different from there’s. Additionally, even on the slim chance they are exactly the same as someone else’s, can you convey your story in a more persuasive and compelling manner?
Extracurriculars: this should be complementary to your story. This is also an area where you can differentiate yourself.
Interest Signals: by this I mean how you display your interest in the program be it attending school visits, talking to students/alumni, interacting with the AdCom, etc. How much weight depends on the program. For example HBS does not give two shits whether you proclaim your love for the school. On the other hand, I’ve found that Booth and Kellogg both care very much about community fit and are receptive in this area.
@SA1 Thank you! Really helpful :)
