If you take a role at a start up, but for whatever reason doesn’t work out or you don’t like it, are you limited in exits? Do consulting firms view start up experience positively? How about larger corporates
Looking at a Google Strategy and Operations Manager role…I have 6 years of experience managing large technical projects in the ERP + eCommerce/marketing realms. Any tips on how to break in?
EY’s application status changed to “we’d like to progress you to the next step….” 4 weeks ago no referral and still no follow up. Should I just assume i’ve been 👻
3 YOE in mgmt consulting at big 4. What comp range should I expect for a top / mid tier tech company for a strategy role? Role requires 3-5 YOE and is a Manager level role (but doesn’t have direct reports)
Hi fellow fishies! I currently work at a boutique consulting firm (1-2 YOE) but looking to make the move to B4 (probably KPMG). What would be a good compensation package to ask for when negotiating for the experienced associate role (MCOL) given the 2021 job market? Thank you!
Any idea about range for a 5yoe "Data consultant" role in Capgemini ? What is the max i can ask?
I’m leaving a Manager role to take a Director one. They are finalizing the formal offer letter now. I want to leave my current team on good terms, not drop the ball on projects I’m leaving. I’d also like (need) at least a week to refresh and reset and get organized before starting the new director role. I’ve been negotiating terms with the new place since September 3. We agreed on compensation yesterday. Is asking for a Nov 1 start date pressing my luck/being a jerk or totally reasonable?
I’ve been in consulting just under a year. I came from a tech company and implement their technology. I hate delivery and it’s showing… I can’t find a role I enjoy. I’ve been on difficult projects which probably doesn’t help, but in general I’m finding I don’t enjoy the deep, in the weeds conversations that being in delivery requires. Should I try to move within my company, go back to tech, or join another consulting firm in a different capacity?
Capgemini is hiring for RPA/Intelligent Automation roles in the US. I do not believe they are able to sponsor candidates for these roles. The roles are primarily remote (travel to client as required/when offices open) but would prefer the candidates to be located in Charlotte, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, and El Paso. DM me if you are interested in any of the below roles and I can provide more details. UiPath: Business analyst, developer, solution architect WorkFusion: Solution Architect
Philosophical question (not trying to be political, just a genuine question I’ve been grappling with): do you think being pro-choice and pro-vax mandate are logically inconsistent? Both are sincere views of mine, but upon further reflection I haven’t been able to think of a way one position could be completely defended without undermining the other. Goes the other way for pro life/against vax mandates as well. The fact is, they just feel different to me, but I’m not sure why. Thoughts?
Hello! I am a Hiring Manager for a Human Service company that care for individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental disabilities. I am looking for new outlets for recruitment. We are doing college fairs and also are on Indeed. Any one hiring caretakers with a new fresh idea for recruitment?
Was given a referral at Google - how long does it typically take to be reached out to (if at all)? Thanks!
Received a verbal offer at a company that I’m very excited about. Got the benefits information and am waiting for them to send the written offer over today (they are creating a new role so Workday ticket has to go through). The company has an unlimited PTO policy, should I tell them about any scheduled vacation that I have later this year (January) before I sign the offer?

When someone you know reaches out about a job opening on your team, but you know they’re not right for the work, how do you kindly reject them? Give me your best “let ‘em down easy” moves, please!
JP Morgan vs Goldman Sachs I have offers from both these firms, almost same package and same role. Which one should I pick and why?
Non-CPA Associates and seniors in California, are you paid hourly or are you salaried? I was told non-CPA’s at accounting firms are legally required to be paid hourly in California. Is this true? I’m currently hourly.
That look when I receive an email about a new Teams Channel where I find an update instructing me to sign up for team updates via Yammer and training via Zoom.
Back on the market and I’m coming to find two things: 1. Less desirable agencies are the ones who want people back on-site soon, with no wiggle room for remote work. 2. These same agencies want to pay salaries based on COL in the city where the agency is based even if you’re working/living from another market in the interim. Example: Midwest based agency paying Midwest salaries to folks living in places like NY, SF, LA. 🧐🧐🧐🧐
When it comes to recruiting, is it good for the industry when the first word out of HR is "diversity" and not "talent?"
I lost my last job a few weeks before Christmas last year and it took me a long while to find a new one. Ultimately I ended up moving to a new city for a job I was really excited about. However, within the first few weeks I suffered a major medical setback which led to a crippling bout of depression. I am finally starting to feel like a person again but I'm afraid the ship has sailed on my having success in my new role.
What city do you live in? Why?
Could anyone share examples with me of how your agency’s briefing docs (creative briefs, channel briefs etc..) includes prompts for diversity and inclusion or cultural considerations?
Any Marriott all-inclusive and/or just amazing Marriott properties to visit in the US or Caribbean? I have some suite upgrades and points to burn and looking to do a short trip in November.
6th year L&E associate here and thinking about transitioning to a position with better WLB. How do you go about getting a government job and are they flexible about WFH, at least a couple of days a week? Recruiters reach out all the time, but always about other firm positions. Tips/ advice much appreciated!
Is there any institute providing blockchain certification? Have done course from Udemy but thinking for the certification…. Guys please let me know
Everyone should openly share their salaries/wages with anyone who wants to know. It only helps other workers and is only bad for companies. Biggest company propaganda was getting the general public to think that’s it’s inappropriate to have salary transparency.
Can anybody suggest any books or resources to get smart on medical device marketing and/or medical device manufacturing?
EY recruiter wouldn’t give me a solid figure for intl tax manager sign-on bonus. Do you typically have to go through the whole interview process before you get a number?
First job out of college as a junior strategist. what’s the norm for staying at a first gig? Been here 1yr and calculating my next move..not totally unhappy but we all know how O&M is doing...
Going to my first in-person local networking event since covid after work today. I’m worried I forgot how to be a human in public over the past 18 months. Used to be relatively good at working a room (for someone who codes) but it was a skill I worked at for years before the pandemic hit. Do y’all have any advice?

I’m interviewing for BCG and had a principal reach out to me for a zoom chat. Is this normal for principals to reach out or is this a positive sign?
How difficult is it to be counseled out at Big 4 firms? Is it common or do you really have to mess up? Are any of the firms more cutthroat than the others?
