Any Chicago based agencies or design firms hiring a FT or Freelance Senior Designer?

I’m ready to find another gig. Btw I’m 1.5 years into the industry now soo I’m kinda new-ish. I’ve been working at a small shop, but I’m not a fan of the work we do. We rarely make “big idea” kind of stuff.

My book doesn’t have too many examples of real ad work that aligns with the kind of work I want to do. Is that a huge deal breaker for other agencies?

How does one tailor their book to stand out and transition to an agency that’s making the big stuff they want to make?

One net plus about being unemployed right now, I get to watch all the impeachment hearings.

Genuine question: can someone explain to me WHY people send other members on their team files to put on the agency server? I’ve witnessed this at every agency I’ve worked at, and it’s never an issue of access or file type/size. To me, it’s always come across as lazy or a power move but I really want to be wrong. Any justifiable reason why this is a common practice?
