Hi All,
I have joined TCS recently and itâs been 4 months and Iâm not liking it due to micromanagement, toxic work culture and mismatch in the role/technology. Can someone tell me How do I get release from this project ??

I used to work with an ex-consultant from there â super toxic and political
Wow this is a negative thread - for what itâs worth I think itâs great. Happy to chat if you want to DM.
I will say itâs clearly polarising though - the firm has provided some awesome opportunities for an awful lot of people, but until pretty recently we havenât dealt with leavers well - chatter like this is probably the sting in the tail of that.
Hey there! Just got invited for a first round interview with Elixirr. Would love to hear more about the firm and experience. Thank you!
Totally toxic culture. If you want to join what is basically an old boys club then go for it. Zero diversity, no empathy, lad culture, list goes on.
I know someone there and this has not at all been his experience. Maybe different US vs UK but his leadership chain is female and he has raved about the place
Wtf is a "challenger consultancy"?
Speaking from experience BP? đ
I turned down an interview because the Glassford reviews are horrific (keep scrolling and you'll see)
Fwiw I have a friend there who has had a really positive experience for the past few years. I do get the sense that it's a pretty hard working team, but also one that really cares about its people and offers really cool travel and project opportunities.
Could be luck of the draw on projects/teams like with any firm đ¤ˇââď¸
Have a friend who basically got shouted at by HR when he said his expected salary range.
Know friend of a friend that works there who says itâs a sweatshop
They sound like a lovely bunch đ
Avoid avoid avoid: awful pay, very alpha male, they donât even pay for good monitors in the main offices so analysts are working off tiny laptop screens, 10 hour flights to SA in economy, hire and fire culture, super understaffed support functions (source: friend who worked there)
God bless you, thanks for helping me dodge a bullet.
Friends who work there hate it, but feel trapped there because they have so much tied up in un-vested shares after the IPO. Having heard some of the stories, I would avoid like the plague.
Returned to give some of the positives:
* faster promotion potential than youâll have a chance of finding anywhere else, and theyâre done quarterly
* bonuses can beat the hell out of big 4 (can be 25%+)
* great options and equity participation scheme
* really high quality team and great team spirit
* be part of something thatâs growing
* maybe youâll fly (premium) economy to SA, but I had some of the best times of my career doing that while big4 peers were living in the Holiday Inn Milton Keynes
Sure you will find some issues but you as an individual can make a meaningful difference - by all means find some issues, just help fix them when you do
Could you say more about working hours and culture? Had wildly different experiences in consulting and would like to know if itâs a slides sweatshop or you actually do original work. Also, what type of projects are common?
They seem to be marketing themselves as an innovator / disruptor in the consulting industry. I believe their value proposition centres around design thinking. Know someone that works there but no idea on culture
I can't speak to their culture as I've not worked there or know anyone who has. However, I have come across them in the market at a few clients and the clients seem to absolutely love them. They seem to do a lot in innovation and digital transformation. They must be doing something right as their stock has pretty much doubled in the last year. Every Consultancy has varying degrees of toxic culture but not every consulting firm is loved by clients and managed to grow during COVID so something is working there.
Costs you nothing to meet them and form your own opinion VS relying on anonymous advice of strangers on FB or GD. My advice is meet as many people as possible and speak to current AND former employees.
Seen it all over the place - no idea what it is
