My manager quit months ago and I’ve been doing the job of 2 people since, with the intent of being promoted. I was just told that I would not be promoted this year. I am depressed, over worked, feel under appreciated, am definitely under paid, and burnt out. I really like my new manager and am close with her, so I want to I discuss my feelings with her. How do I (politely) explain that I won’t be doing the work of 2 people without proper compensation?

International vs. PCS internal and Exit Opportunities. — I’m a S2 in ATL working in PCS and in international/crossborder for private clients. I need some guidance determining whether I would be better off staying in PCS or declaring a specialty in int’l/crossborder work. I don’t see myself in B4 forever, and it seems the int’l work would limit exit opps in the future. However, PCS exit opps aren’t appealing to me either: family office or wealth management. — any help or insight is appreciated.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I’m moved under a person who I would not get along with at all and have clashes with in the past. I’m considering resigning with no job prospects at the moment. I had a lot of trouble at work this year. Was depressed and had poor project experiences. So I wanted an exit and i got it. A good one.

If you have to pay back a sign on bonus do you get back the withholding on it when you file your tax returns? For instance if the sign on bonus is 10k, there si withholding on that. So you actually receive 6k (assumption). But if you leave the company you pay back 10k no? How do you get the 4k back?
