Hey all. I was a career pivot. It’s hard, one o free hardest things you’ll ever do. But you can do it.
It’s ok to get discouraged, and even give up for a bit; but just remember to pick yourself back up at some point.

For point of reference: I was a police officer for 11 years. Now I’m a mobile app developer. (Was a web dev for a bit too)

How long did this take, interested to know as I’ve been looking at leaving my industry for about 4 months now

So I started learning java on my own june 2020,
Then learned a bit of C#, got wicked discouraged and stopped for a bit. But then learned web dev from an app in like nov/December 2020 and did a bootcamp may-October 2021. I was hired as a front end web dev contractor by Home Depot in September 2021. So it was quite the process

Hello! I’ve been working as a photographer for 15 years both as an employee and a freelancer. I started working full time with my current company a year ago. They’ve just offered me a new position: Creative Services Manager (in house for 4 related brands). I have no official experience in this field and had never heard of it before but feel like it will essentially be a creative director. I will also maintain the photography duties for the time being. Any idea what salary I should ask for?
