Hey all, Looking at a move into tech sales, most likely initially SDR roles (due to no experience in tech before) does anyone have any input into particular companies or IT sectors with good future growth potential? I'm suspecting blockchain or AI? Thanks

I’d say the following taking into account growth forecasts: - Everything related to cloud (IaaS, PaaS…) - Security (ZeroTrust, SASE…) - AI/ML You can try at a system integrator or consulting company or, preferably, at a vendor.

Thanks, yes the AI/ML is definitely catching my eye for growth, do you have any recommendable companies which could be of use looking into? Thanks again for your time

Blockchain and AI get all the news. Both need heaps of infrastructure to work and the demand for infrastructure isn’t changing unless we figure out a completely new way to compute. I’d look to get as close to the infra as possible, it’s how I started less than a decade ago. I’m doing well and the sector is thriving. Of course, there are plenty of other rocket ships, but I see cloud infra like waste management, even in a down turn people still need their bins collecting.

Thanks for the insight really useful!

Have you read any of the Gartner reports re: top priorities for CIOs and CISOs? That'll tell you the markets that are hot and then you can research which companies are the leaders in those specific markets by Googling "Gartner Magic Quadrant XXX".

You can always tell when a company is ranked well by Gartner. Because they tell you immediately.

Don't aim for SDR if you have Sales experience. Aim for an AE role and highlight your integrity and speed to knowledge.

Twice on this project I've said "happy Friday" on Thursday morning client calls. Call me stupid, but the joy of flying home legit makes me feel like the weekend is dawning.

Applying to 3 business school by December 1 (6essays total)... How long will it take an average mediocre writer (myself) to write?

KPMG is looking out for SAP resource but when you give interview they don’t like you. Not sure how they will build the SAP practice. SAP market is hot and with this level of scrutiny it is difficult for them to beat others in the market.

Any advice for dealing with managers/bosses you don’t like? I don’t want to be pulled off the project since it is a big client but can’t stand my team esp the manager.

I’m actually wholly surprised when people are impressed that I work at Deloitte. This was a super easy job to get, most people here are majorly unimpressive and it’s altogether average. I know most of y’all on here already know that but if you’re stalking this app because you think D is cool, it’s not bro. It’s fine but it’s nothing special.

A) Is it worth living in SF with the high cost of living? B) I need to save for my MBA in 1-2 years but I really want to move (esp to SF). Just started saving. Should I move somewhere cheaper?

When will b school interviews fall if you apply r1? Literally anytime between sept-dec or is it specific time/ do you get much lead time?

Why is YouTube down? I need to watch my pods
