Hi everyone. A friend knows that I do Staffing recruiting and this agency is in charge of providing medical benefits, PTO, and Holiday pay. I run the branch, I'm responsible for coaching, maintaining attendance, and dealing with verbal and written warnings, and termination. We use TempWorks to track everything from interviews, onboarding, E-Verify, background and drug screening, and payroll as well. I document everything. Ok, so my question is do I need any HR-specific certifications?

I’m working at a new company and absolutely love it, my boss just hired a new person on our team that has no hr experience, no college background, they worked in IT so she thought it would be great to have her own IT person, now I’m struggling to make it through the day at work because of the language that the new person uses in conversations or the fact that he wears the same outfit all week long to work. Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Are you doing performance evals during COVID?

I work in Fintech Startup and we are recently re-evaluating our comp structures.

My Boss and I were going back-and-forth regarding the structure for our engineering and developer team.

Do most Dev teams have a bonus structure in addition to their base? If so, what metrics is this bonus based off of?
Or do the Engineers just get a higher annual raise than other depts?
