Advice for Deloitte USI consultant ……If short term goal is to work for a few years in the US and then move back to India, what is the recommended approach-
1. MS/MBA in US and look for a Human Capital role (will need to spend $$ but will ensure higher designation and more options)
2. Stay at USI and wait for a project opportunity in US (lower probability of selection for H1B, move with same designation)

Conflicted feelings - I have a senior title in my role in enterprise tech sales (no quota). I am 25 years old, the second youngest person on the team is 32 (same title) and the rest are all mid to late 30s-40s. Everyone has an MBA except me. I sometimes feel very good to be at a place without investing all that money in mba and relatively early in my career as compared to my peers VS too young and someone who lacks credibility on the team. Thoughts? My manager has given me good feedback so far

Hi guys, so I am wanting to have a career shift and I am curious if anyone can give me some advice on what it is like being a data analyst?
Though I may have limited experience, I have a BS in Business Administration. I am currently getting a certificate in Data analytics, and I am teaching myself SQL and Python.

What else could I do to make resume stand out more? What could I expect as a starting salary? Are there options to wfh?

As a job seeker, what would be the benefits of taking a 12 month contract with no "contract-to-hire" statement in the listing over a salary or contract-to-hire position? I'm currently questioning if I should look for other opportunities, but potentially giving up my 401k, health insurance, and other benefits is nerve-racking, especially as a head of a household of four. Would it be beneficial to start a LLC or something if I were to go this route? I've only held salary positions in tech.

I’m an associate in biglaw. Practice group has been med mal for a year and a half, but have four years of broad litigation experience. I wanted to join a FAANG company with a better package but I already have an offer from a firm with somewhat good package and I have been unable to get into FAANG after good efforts too , what should I do , should I go ahead with this other firm (and then keep trying FAANG) or should I wait to absolutely get into FAANG, it would be odd if I make it to FAANG after 3-4 months of joining another firm and then leave it.Please advise.

Do I take a job at a more boring company that’s a 41% pay increase and comes with 1% equity?

Current company: a fun and exciting fintech startup that’s about to raise a Seed/Series A. Possible to be promoted in the next year with a pay bump (still likely not as much as the job offer)

Potential company: A marketplace that sells used phones online and has been profitable for 5+ years.

Hi everyone, I want to pivot my career from technical account manager to product manager. Any advice on what I can do to make this change? Certificates, courses, etc. How to land a job? I am 22 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

like

MS degree, 4YOE, currently working at a boutique life science consulting in NYC, ~132k TC, managing 10 people across 3 clients.
Client offered TC ~220k (170k base) with travel comp for a SM job, top 40 biotech by market cap.

Pros - 0 transition (same work/team), wlb, TC, no relocation, have an advocate
Cons - wanted AD but offered SM, less exposure to different work, more personal effort to keep up w industry knowledge and new tools

Worth the jump? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated!

Term life insurance question - I added the AICPA annual term policy last year. I've noticed personal finance media seems to push 10-20 year term and not discuss annual.

It was considerable cheaper up front and more at the end than 10yr per the fee schedule. If all goes according to plan I'll be at or close to FI within 5-7 years so not sure that I'd keep the full amount past then and would miss the benefit of the cheaper years at the end. Am I missing other risks of not doing 10+ term?

I took a supervisor position a while back because I felt bad that my boss was dealing with high-turnover & having to pick up extra responsibilities to compensate. She’s given me nothing but praise 1:1. However, there’ve been times where she exerted more power & control over me than I prefer. Today she shamed me while in a meeting with all my peers. I was visibly upset, sat silently in anger. She acknowledged being “Rude” followed with “I’m not perfect.” I put in my notice shortly after.

Seeking advice: I’ve been working as an analyst at a PE company for 18months 4 days a week on a part time contract and I feel like they are under paying me. I’m earning 42.2K p.a They want me to go full time as I am graduating however I don’t know what the base salary for an analyst with 18 months experience would be. My friend who works as an analyst (with less experience than me) is earning 70K. Would love to get a sense of what I should be expecting / asking for when I go full time. Thanks!
