Now pat yourself on the back, twice, B1
Stay away from that if you know what's good for you
I think he meant private equity due diligence work, and yes there are groups that do this in the firm, mostly former auditors
There's a lot of PE DD but work/life balance is non existent. S&O M&A.
Are you in Deloitte consulting? If so I refuse to help in this endeavor
Well the PE DD work I'm aware of is glorified audit work...if you are in DC it would be a big step backwards. There are other M&A related functions in DC though, I'm just not well versed in them. I know there's some front end strategy and post close integration offerings, check those out.
Check out M&A Strategy practice if you are S&O. That's the closest to what you are looking for. Lots of Due Diligences (not sure how may PE)
PE DD is mostly done by MBB
^and us, OW, and LEK. But yeah, it's true we're smaller.
And by MBB, BCG 1 really means mostly us. We do 4X the amount of work as McK, and we are half the size.
ODD and FDD. D5 is right 👆
It can vary, OP. I've done DDs for two of the top five megafunds
Commercial due diligence - competitive landscape, market sizing and top line growth opportunities, consumer insights. Non financial and non operational
We evaluate the health of the business within the context of their investment thesis. That evaluation can vary quite a bit (e.g., what's a reasonable growth rate, what's white space vs served markets, customary advocacy, perception, and strength etc.) the funds are competitive on their ability to financially engineer a positive return, but to bid with confidence they need to have an unbiased view on the strength of the business
D2, former auditors who switched to consulting? Any clue where I can find more info or find the partners who lead the projects?
Is that more operational DD?
They do the modeling and deal details... and trust me, they still spend a lot of time poring over the (considerable) materials we create over 4 weeks. To do both over such a short period would be... a lot
And there are both buy side and sell side DDs
Nah DD is more of an Art specialty. Oracle and SAP mostly hold down math and science, while SI does most of the history work. PE is typically TS&As specialty
Yes I am in DC and why is that?
