Latest iPhone सबको दिखा के खूब फेंकते होगे,
Luxary staycations पे अच्छी धूप सेकते होगे,
आशा करता हूं......

Have you considered taking the antepartum leave? Most states you can take 2 weeks off before EDD. NY, NJ, CA qualify for 4 weeks. This is a use it or lose it leave. Call the leaves team and MetLife to confirm
Not Deloitte but used MetLife too. Just fill out forms with official estimated date from dr. It should be expected that once you reach 36 weeks you could be out at any time and you should prepare your coverage according to that.
At Accenture I clicked a button the night I went into labor that kicked off the process automatically with MetLife (who contacted me a few weeks later to confirm dates) and auto sent an email to my manager.
Not sure how it is at Deloitte but tl;dr fill out forms with dr estimate and disclose whatever other details to your project/manager as you see helpful.
I got a call confirming that I started maternity leave the day I went into labor (I had my baby a month early).
It was just a simple phone call. They asked about it and I said I went into labor a month early and that was that.
Once you submit your leave form someone from the leaves team will be assigned to your case and you can ask them any questions. I found it helpful to have a point of contact. 1800Deloitte leaves team is also helpful.
And yes you call MetLife after the baby is born to officially start STD. I put my due date on the form but gave birth 5 days early.
I would set expectations with your manager that there’s a high chance of you going out on leave during the holiday break so all transition should be handled prior.
Rising Star
Also used MetLife and went into labor early. Talk to your representative but they usually give you a week to update them when your leave should start after the birth. This can also be a simple email with the case number in headline. I think we drafted the email and kept it ready and hit send once the baby was born.
Submit it now with the estimated dates and call the leaves team to confirm but you should have that first week after the baby comes to update them on the timing. It is definitely an estimation and they do figure it out. The first week out is out of PTO for exactly this reason.
Thanks everyone! And I asked Met life about the Antepartum leave and your right, that is an option! I get two weeks in my state for prep and doctor appointment me which starts after the holiday disconnect on 1/3/2023. Which is a way better transition. Since I will be considering full term the week of the disconnect. So I just updated my claim and sent my request form. Thank you so much this really helped!!
And to give more context, I’m a FTM and currently 30 weeks and I haven’t given my manager the request form yet. But it is filled out and I wrote my dates as estimates. I just want to make sure I give the most accurate dates possible. But I have it marked at 1/16/2023 as the date for when I start. I hope that helps! 🙂
You need to have the request form completed (with your estimated dates) and approved 30 days early, so I recommend you submit it now. As another poster mentioned, once you give birth, you let MetLife and the Leaves team know (within 30 days after the birth) and they will update with the actual start date / birth date. Keep in mind that you need to enter the first 5 days as PTO in DTE (the short term disability waiting period). After that, the Leaves team takes care of your time submission for the rest of STD and for the duration of your parental leave.
Thank you! This helps. That’s an interesting insight about having to click a button. MetLife mentioned that I will need to call them. 😅 Maybe that’s another question to ask 1-800 Deloitte.
Yeah the button thing is something Accenture has set up.
Hello M1, you mean you called MetLife when you went into labor? Correct?
