Oh ok
Oh man you must go wild when people pronounce “ask” as “axe”
I … have a hard time believing this

Oh no people pronounce a dead language word not how you pronounce oh wow they must be fools and not people with different backgrounds/experiences/accents gosh you’re super smart
~preScRIptiVsm isNt elItiSt or gAtKeepY at AIL~ right??????
It’s et cetera, not etcetera. Pls fix.
Coach
Totally right 😅

I mean, most people can’t/don’t say espresso correctly, so how do you want them to get etcetera right? There is no “x” in espresso…
Coach
I’ve heard this too and idk why you would do that. It’s harder to say the word if you have an x. Wtf

Actually depends on the pronunciation style you choose. The reconstructed pronunciation pronounces et ketera (like kaiser is Caesar). Latin languages and liturgical pronounce et cetera like ssetera. Don't come teach what you don't know.
Coach
So you’re saying still in no case is it ek- setra. Or ex cetra. Et ketera makes more sense than ek setra. Ssetera is the pronunciation I’m pushing for so what you’re saying is consistent.
What are you cracking on about?
Coach
There’s rarely a need to use Latin. You can just say that is in place of I.e. and for example in place of e.g.
Even “and so on” in place of et cetera or etc.
And just don’t use per se outside of a legal brief

You should be saying &c. or you aren't pretentious enough
Agreed. If you’re going to be the grammar police, at least get it right.

Hahahaha. “Ecsetera” people also say “expresso” 🥴🥴
Is it groundbreaking to you that people have different accents that impact their pronunciation? Please grow up
A mispronunciation is not an “accent”
