Hey everyone! I applied for a team lead position but was offered an opportunity to apply for a supervisor position role, instead! The problem is the salary that their offering is $45K-$54K based on experience. My previous salary as a Sup was $65K + remote. I'd like to negotiate the salary that their offering! How do I go about that?

I would definitely bring up that information and see where the conversation goes. If you've been paid $65K before with your experience, there shouldn't be any reasons why they can't match it (unless the company budget can't match it). Ask them what their budget actually is for the role as well, because a lot of companies will offer far less than what is budgeted for employees.

Wow! Thank you so much for that advice! I definitely will bring it up!

Just bring it up. Most recruiters/hiring managers expect a candidate to counteroffer, so it's nothing new to them. If you can come armed with evidence that you're worth the higher amount, that would be even better. Good luck!

Hmmm, awesome for this feedback! What kind of evidence do you suggest?

Hello!

I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at
Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.

Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.

With social security potentially running out, why couldn’t it be an option for the govt to put $5k for every baby that is born in a year into an account Invested in a govt share class S&P 500 fund. Historical average is 10%+, which would provide roughly $2.7 million for a baby born today. Eventually, this would eliminate the need for soc sec tax, and would only cost $18 Billion a year instead of several trillion a year being deposited into the trust.

I’ve a question. If you’re working on a yearly salary, do you get paid for 23 business days for the month with 31 days? As in, last month august had 31 days and 23 business days and if I get paid 7 hours a day, I should get paid 23*7=161 hours for the month. But I got paid only 22*7=154 hours which is 22 business days. I asked our head and she said I am on a yearly salary so shouldn’t worry about how many ours I get paid for because my salary is fixed for every month - annual package/12.
