Hey Everyone, I have an offer from Delloite for Consultant role with 14.5 lpa fixed plus 0-10% variable and another offer from Cognizant with 16.75 lpa fixed plus 70k variable (total 17.45 lpa) . Please suggest which would be better option

If your total experience is more than 6-7 years. Then definitely NO for CTS. If you are confident about finding another good job in another 1 year then you can try.

With that pay difference in fixed salary (~2.2), definitely Cognizant!

@OP if you think PWC India doesn't have layoffs, think again. To be honest if you are able to perform well you don't have to worry about such things

One thing to keep in mind, the 10% variable in Deloitte is almost always more than 10% except for the pandemic year where it was less. They made up for it this year by giving as much as 18-25% to some people. Also your concern on cognizant hire and fire is potentially not valid as we already know they are having to let go of contracts due to shortage of people. I am recommending any company but few data points for you to consider as you make your selection

Capgemini 1 thinking itna to mera 10 YOE main bhi nahi hoga

Better pay will be good option. Don't get pulled in for Big 4 brand it's for Audit not for tech Consulting.

And what was your current package?

Is it possible to get counter from Deloitte, by showing the Cognizant offer ?

I hope others here can share some thoughts on this as well.. I don't have much experience with negotiations as well..

Would you leave Deloitte as a M for MBB but at one level down (SC equivalent)? I’m conflicted because I feel like I have a strong network internally and have lots of freedom to execute projects as I see fit but worried switching would take away all that plus move me backwards in role / responsibility.

Will it hurt me in the long run to have comms experience in different industries? My agency is hiring and I'm watching folks at all levels who would otherwise be qualified for a role be disqualified because their experience isn't solely in the tech/B2B space. FWIW, my internships were all fashion PR and I didn't think I'd be in tech.

Been working on mostly (about 70%) public sector policy and strategy at Big 4 for most of my career. Often go up against MBB on RFPs and have a decent win rate. Would I be too senior to come in as a lateral hire? I guess it’s all about client networks at this level, and being government, it’s locationally dependent - so which markets have need?
