Hi! I joined a startup last month and was offered 30,000 stock options with a value of $60,000 with a 4 year vesting period with 1 year cliff. What does this mean? Is it good? It’s the first time I’m getting stock options and I haven’t yet been provided the stock options contract (they said it’s coming).

Pre-partner level (AP / Principal) at MBB — have failed the partner promotion and being asked to stick around for at least another 6-12 months as the firm believes in my potential (but of course no guarantee to make it). Gutted for not having been promoted despite the strong traction built.
Have an offer from tier-2 (S&, EYP) to join as a partner with significant pay bump.

For any of you who have worked in Big Law, if/how did you realize it wasn’t for you as a female WOC and how did you handle it? I (maybe naively) left my prior firm due to lack of mentorship, sponsorship and ongoing microaggressions. My new firm has been generally better, but so many of those issues are ongoing and I’m beginning to feel like it’s just big law. I talked with a recruiter at GAP Solutions Inc. about a Clinical Advisor position in Rockville, Maryland and asked for a range of 125-135k and I got a written message that if all goes well, they can give me 125k. Typical! Research shows the average salary as 151k and I'd like to push for closer to 140k. Do I keep my mouth shut until after the interview or do I say something now? I don't want to dissuade them but I also don't want to waste time. I make about $110k now.

Need words of wisdom and encouragement to stay calm. Rationally I know I need to stay still for a couple of months (3-4 months), but emotionally I am not entirely happy. I am impatient; I have a goal and I want to hit it. I am competitive; I have friends who are ahead of me financially and I want to catch up. But right now I am not able to make moves. Is it bad to give less than 2 weeks notice before a last day? Our manual says "at least 2 weeks" but I booked a ticket to travel for a family event leaving on June 10th and my goal was to have another job by then so I could permanently move, too. In order for me to give 2 weeks I have to let them know by May 26th but if I don't hear back from a job by then...I'd either have to give less than 2 weeks notice or book a ticket to come back just to give 2 weeks and then would fly back.
