Hey everyone. I’m a new graduate with a physical disability and I’ve been applying to jobs the past couple of months and had a couple of interviews so far. I applied for a role and usually do not mention my disability on applications but decided to. I was tired of companies being unable to deal or not understand so I wanted to be upfront. I think it paid off and my current company is very understanding.

like

Yea it really is and I thought so too but I learned from that experience and now I’m bringing it up in the first interview and letting them know how important disability and inclusion is for me when looking for places to work at.

Try Accenture

like

Yea I was looking at roles there today they look like they have a pretty good consulting development program I’m looking into

I think all of the big name companies like IBM have some kind of policies in place to recruit individuals with disablities. Have you considered joining an association or nonprofit for people who share your disability? That might help with getting plugged in and having connections to opening.

like

Also, your school's Career Center might have a department that focuses on helping those with disablities. We did at UMD so you might want to check it out if you have one

Google is good about hiring although I don't know about a specific program.

If you want to check out a smaller company (compared to Accenture and Google) take a look at pax8

In my late 20's, but I've lived in my current city (nonUS) my whole life. I was really looking forward to moving to NYC and landed a job there earlier this year although I'm still WFH and not in the US yet. A recruiter reached out to me for a new role but it would be in my old city. I'd be pretty fine with both roles themselves. But the NYC one would pay about 140$ TC (not sure about bonus yet, this is a guess), and the non-NYC one would be maybe $25-30 more. Is the $ worth the city sacrifice?

Anyone from IQVIA? I just wanted to check something. I gave 2 rounds of interview and got selected. The HR asked for the documents for further process, I submitted them in the second last week of May. I still don't have any update on it. I called them thrice, Then I dropped an email to HR asking for an update, and the worst part is the HR neither replied to my email and when I tried calling yesterday, the HR deducted call. 🤷‍♂️ What should I do? They didn't release my offer letter too! 💁‍♂️

I have an opportunity to move back into tax but the catch is it’s in San Francisco. Offer is 130k with a target 10% bonus and 5% pension contribution.
