- did you follow up the interview with a thank you email and bonus example of why you’re great for the job

Starting a new job tomorrow. Right after I accepted the offer I actually found out through one of my referrals that the manager that I interviewed with got moved to another team. Not only do I have a new manager that I never met but he’s also a brand new manager. He seems to have been a top engineer. I feel like it was a bait and switch. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m now terrified that I’m going into this new role blindly.

How to deal with a father who lacks empathy? Essentially I didn’t like how he treated my mom growing up (always arguing) and when they ultimately separated and divorced in my young adult years, I took her side. He has tried to communicate with me throughout that time and I would tell him this but he just doesn’t get it and would focus on other issues so I ultimately blocked him from my life the last 5 years. Need to vent but, how can people be able to afford a house that can only eat 25% of their monthly income? we live in a HCOL area and the houses in a good school districts are +400K (these houses are 1 hour away from DC too). I am so scared and don’t want to be a house slave but I have a kid and I want to be able to afford the best for him
