Hey everyone - love this bowl and looking for some feedback. I am 31 and wondering if I should make any adjustments to my Roth 401k. Current allocation: 15% - FBGKX (blue chip large cap growth) 15% - growth company pool class 2 (large cap growth) 25% - S&P 500 index 10% - RNPGX (world large stock growth) 10% - RERGX (Europac growth fund) 10% - FSRNX (real estate index fund) 15% - total international stock market index I still have a bunch in the 2055 fund, but this is going forward. Thoughts?

That looks expensive with a lot of overlap. I would do this: 20% international 80% S&P 500

I try to keep things below 0.1%. Relatively speaking, that isn’t very high but this is a bowl that likes really low fees.

The only change you need to make is to change your future contributions to pretax 401k unless at 31 your in a low tax bracket still?

smart

I make $160k. Def not the highest tax bracket…

My husband and I are looking to buy our first home. We live in HCOL, so the loan is most likely going to be jumbo. In your experience, is it better to go with bigger banks or smaller lenders for jumbo loans? We have enough cash to put 20% down, but would prefer not to do that and go with 15% down instead - do jumbos typically go with 15% down and no PMI? We also have an option to borrow from 401k or to sell 1/3 of our investments to raise cash if PMI is too high. What would you do? Any advice?

For data science roles, senior (L6) at AWS or post MBA level (specialist track, so same pay as generalists) at MBB? Comp is 20% higher at AWS just to start. But maybe looks like MBB has better upside - solid path to promotion to manager level with solid comp increase. But worse WLB and it's unclear to me whether MBB data scientist on the resume is up to par with big tech data scientist on the resume. Coming from big 4 so I am considering brand so I can do better with future resume screens.

Currently in audit, looking to do tax returns for friends and family on the side to make a little extra money. Two questions: 1) would the firm have a problem with this if it doesn’t interfere with my work? I assume no since the firm probably isn’t interested in filing my brother’s return (he is a union electrician). 2) I have no experience in tax (I don’t even do my own return), so is there a good software to use for this or what is the best way to learn how to do tax returns?

We were initially thinking about a rental in our area code (northern virginia) but all ideas/threads on here seem to indicate renting a beach front property on airbnb would be a win-win. Any reasons why we should not invest in a beachfront and instead stick to original plan? Tia!
