Hey everyone,
So I’ve been offered multiple jobs as a sous chef some are in the city some are not. The main one I want is in the city of Boston. How much do you think starting salary I should ask for. The job comes will a lot of benefits like health, dental, vision, etc. it’s my first real salary job so I want to get an understanding on where to value myself. Thanks again

Congratulations on your multiple offers, especially a salaried one with benefits! I think it all depends on how much experience you have and what kind of restaurant you'd be working at on what you should ask for, but I believe the range is between $50k-$67k. I'd shoot for $59k and negotiate down from there. Good luck!

40k-60k

I would ask for no less than 60k.

I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏

Recently moved into Tech Sales. Frustrated with my Salary (32K base/year, negligible bonus potential of a few K). Was making ~3K/week on average in my previous role which was commission only, no base. Feel like I am completely wasting my time and potential. Saw the cut as necessary evil initially in order to move into tech sales and make multi six figure commissions later on with potential to reach 7 figures in total comp. At least my current role is with enterprise accounts which. Thought?

Hi 👋🏾 I started a job in Jan of 2022 as a proj. coord. (2yrs exp) for a small-mid sized company ~200 ppl. I have received much recognition from the directors and higher executives. 3 months after being hired I was asked to become SCRUM master (for which I am certified) Unfortunately there has been a series of management changes and at my 6 month evaluation my salary was adjusted from 65 to 67k. Am I wrong to expect more? I’m unsure what a typical promotional jump is but 67k for SCRUM master?

I am currently having thoughts about how I should advance my career, and which path I should take.

I currently am compensated about 250k TC as a Senior Staff Engineer. I am wanting to reach for double, not necessarily any time in the near future (my goal is ~5 years). I currently have 10 years of experience. I feel that I am already pretty close to the pay ceiling for my role.

Should I be shooting for Principal engineer or a Senior Manager/Director/VP seat for my goals?

I did take a significant pay cut when I took this job cause I was desperate- but now seeing the new company ranges they are much more on par to what I had been making.
