Helping a friend navigate through severe mental health issues, and it’s starting to take a toll on me now - not even that it’s exhausting, but it’s triggering my own past memories of trauma and intrusive thoughts. Has anyone here ever considered/is considering med school after working in consulting? just wondering what the transition process was like. I am trained in life sciences and decided to try consulting postgrad to try something completely new. Since graduating with my bachelors in pre-medical professions I have been working as a dermatology CMA to gain experiential hours for PA school. I am exploring other career opportunities before I go into a program but with only having 3 years MA experience I’m having a hard time applying my skill set to different roles. I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group.
