Helping a friend navigate through severe mental health issues, and it’s starting to take a toll on me now - not even that it’s exhausting, but it’s triggering my own past memories of trauma and intrusive thoughts. I am in a much better place in life now thankfully, but the thought that I may slip/relapse again keeps nagging at me, even though I am determined not to let that happen.
Any advice from people who may have been in a similar situation?
Has anyone here ever considered/is considering med school after working in consulting? just wondering what the transition process was like. I am trained in life sciences and decided to try consulting postgrad to try something completely new. Lately I’ve realized I’m not super interested however and don’t see myself in consulting long term. I’d love to be on the ground treating people or shaping health policy later on.
Does anyone know how long the waiting period for health insurance is at IQVIA ?I start soon and I absolutely abhor my current marketplace plan so I’m excited to switch
So I recently accepted a position to become director at another healthcare organization in my area. I’ve been at my current job 4 years. Any suggestions on the resignation letter? I don’t want to share too much but I report to the head of my hospital and have mixed feelings on what to share.

I am senior consultant with Deloitte and have about 7 years of total experience implementing Salesforce CRM mostly to clients in Health care domain. Can anybody please refer me for a solution architect position in Salesforce or any guidance on how to get the referral.
Context: I have social anxiety and extremely bad at networking. So do not like pinging people on linkedin for referral. None of my friends work at Salesforce.

I am currently working on my MBA in a professional evening and weekend program at a highly accredited university. I am thinking about transferring to a much smaller private online program, specifically because they offer a concentration in organizational health, which directly builds on my doctoral research. Does great depth and specialization outweigh the value of a highly respected generalist degree?
I am a mental health counselor working toward my license. I am looking for new employment. What's the current salary in the Boston, MA area?

Since graduating with my bachelors in pre-medical professions I have been working as a dermatology CMA to gain experiential hours for PA school. I am exploring other career opportunities before I go into a program but with only having 3 years MA experience I’m having a hard time applying my skill set to different roles. Any suggestions/advise/Opportunities?
This past week I got an envelope hand delivered to me by a student I do not teach. In it was a trans pin she had bought for me, as well as a drawing and a letter of thanks.
Again, this is not my student, but I think this speaks to the power of visibility. Students need to know we are members of society. All I did was wear my own trans pin and “love is love” pin on my lanyard, and my trans flag mask (occasionally).
But for that student it was enough.
You folks know... every year we almost burn out everybody and loose about 1/3 of our people (esp the high performers). (Cont.)
Here's a question, and it's not just related to my work: My Ph.D. is in Leadership, I am repeatedly asked not to be a leader, where can I get coursework in how not to be a leader??
What do you all think about using cosmetics at work? Nothing too crazy, for instance, prominent cat-eye eyeliner. It makes me look good, but does look professional?

I have a question. I am my best friends maid of honor in her wedding and recently spent the last 6 months planning her bachelorette party for 12 people and bridal shower where I got no help from any other bridesmaids. On the Bach trip I do admit I had one too many drinks and we ended up getting in an argument in the bathroom at the bar. We met soon after the trip in person and talked it out to which I apologized deeply for my behavior. She is also my MOH and it is now time to plan my Bach trip

Biggest consulting pet peeves (if this is a thing....) I can't stand when my teammates forget to loop me in emails and expect me to know what they had talked about :/

I’m leaving my job soon but I’m wondering if I should be truthful when I hand in my letter of resignation. There’s a ton of reasons but it boils down to: I’m worth more than they can pay me and I need to pay off these student loans. What should I say?
I’m graduating with an MPH in Epidemiology in spring/summer 2023. I’m an international student and will have an OPT. Work as a GRA, great GPA, 5 years of experience in Oil&Gas compliance and internal controls before. Looking for a job in Austin or remote, preferably with a focus in MCH. I’d like to make the most money I can because I’m a single mom. Should I start with state employment to gain relevant experience, or can I try private companies right away? Any recommendations are welcome!
Glad to see the bowl grew from 1 to 5. Modest, but gains nonetheless! Do elective procedures actually come back after covid-19 peaks? Clients already brainstorming how to build trust post-pandemic ..

What to expect with the FAA Interview for Management/Admin Assistant? What’s the hiring process
Have you used a recruiter to find a government job? If so, how was your experience? Any insight would be much appreciated!
I need some guidance in getting someone to construct a private sector resume from my government resume. I’ve been with the government since 89. I really need to get out.
After 13 years in government, really want to get out. Anyone have experience convincing the rest of the world you’re not a “government employee”? I think hiring managers see government work and assume I’m lazy. Ways to get around this?
I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

Advice for how to handle the HR Director my organization is the most toxic person in the City, causing turmoil in departments, sharing disciplinary info about others with everyone she speaks to, bad mouthing people. Who do we go to for a complaint against an HR Director? The City Administration is aware and doesn’t do anything.

What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
Why does it seem so hard to get to the Senior Executive Service level in government? I see so many inexperienced people getting hired into SES and then m asking a mess of things but I can’t even get an interview. What is the secret that I am missing?

Both will work as long as you take a public focus and can explain. What is the GS series for what you do now vs what EIAO has openings for?
Public health goes further outside of USDA, 100%. Food safety might net you a higher private salary but you’ll always be in the food industry. Public health has other academic openings like governance/administration, econ, and urban planning. 11/12 is the GS scale, but what are the series codes for the positions you’re looking at?
Having a masters that matches the titles is better than not having one. I have participated on hiring panels for GS 11+ and the usual suspects for the job generally had a masters that matched the series classification.
If you want more options, do public health. Otherwise, pick the other track if you want to hone in on your food safety career.
I have focused my MPH on food safety with papers and projects. The MPH has given me more flexibility in career options and continuing education. You can always pick up certifications to make up in areas you feel you lack in one or the other.
