Hello mates,
Just joined Infosys on Monday and got a call today for an opening in Unilever project. The person mentioned that I will be replacing another resources for now who is on medical leave and would be working on something that is a little below my skill level. Once that resource is back (after 2-3months) I would be transitioning to a better role with more options to look and learn.

As I'm very new here, should I be trusting the word of mouth? It all happened over call. Please suggest

If we are in the red zone and failed both the sme interviews is what it meant performance exit or we will still be considered for an FTE? I have heard that people with both the sme failures are still pulled in the projects and are full time! Should we be in a hope or look out for other jobs?

I definitely feel like the shipyard is low balling our salaries in Newport News. I am an Electrical Engineer with 9 years of experience, plus 3 years as a electrical technician at Dominion Power and only making $81,000/ year. Pretty low right? I just want to know what exactly am I worth when an offer is on the table. I&C experience, ship power experience, high voltage experience, etc.

About 6 months ago I began a paid internship as an electrical engineer. They recently gave me a notice that my internship ends at the end of August. I asked if there's something they could do to hire me on permanently. They tell me to apply to jobs on the website. I was told that internships only go for 1 year. Hey fishes, I got confirmation of an offer from EY UK for a manager position. However the confirmation is only on mail, I did get a mail from the partner as well. Didnt recieve official contract yet, now I need to answer to another firm now. Although little uneasy in rejecting other offer before getting the contract. HR said it should take around a week, which will be tmrw. HR knows about the situation already & I feel chasing her again will just piss her off. Any suuggestions?
