Consulting. Get him into an analyst job
Liberal-arts majors in general have awesome research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. Itās what they do!
He needs to figure out what heās passionate about and go do that, degree aside. If he doesnāt know the answer to that question by now, the best thing you can do is help him answer it so he can focus
Grad school?
Public Administration, Law, Education - worth considering smaller / local / cheaper schools if heās not concerned with the rat race that cares about that sort of thing.
Also may be worth looking into certifications that are a little more targeted to particular jobs if he doesnāt want to commit to another degree yet.
Advertising, publishing, and teaching come to mind...though grad school for something practical might be a better idea...
Law school? If he wants to be a paralegal, why not go all the way
Heās toying with the idea of law school. And wanted to try that first. He doesnāt want to do corporate law though. He also felt like it would be an easier job to get (given his background).
Teach For America type programs wouldn't be bad
Iām trying to convince him to do a coding boot camp or study and apply to consulting firms.

I was a philosophy major and, obviously, Iām in consulting. Most of my peers went to grad school though
Most went to law school and are in corporate law now
If he wants to be a paralegal, the contracts manager position isnāt that much different and from my experience McKinsey employs a lot of them
