How do people network naturally? I’ve applied for numerous software engineering intern positions, but I have yet to move past applying. I know networking is key, but I just feel awkward and in a way “dirty”… like I don’t want to feel too pushy or impede on people’s time to get into tech. Could someone offer any advice on how to word a message that sounds natural and sincere? I’m looking to get in contact with both recruiters and people already working in positions that I’d want.

I’m wondering now if there’s something wrong with me as an applicant.
